The pump of A8 is driven by a multi-wedge belt driven by a crankshaft, and the pump is driven by the one inside. When the pump is removed, look carefully at the sealing ring around it. I found traces of the bending of the sealing ring at the top, where the antifreeze leaked.
This is the installation end of the pump, which uses the rotation of the pump to drive the flow of water and cool the engine. It should be easy to understand that because there is no oil lubrication, the life of this water pump is very short. So you will find that many times in the process of changing the timing belt will be replaced along with the pump.
The new pump ~ the pipe next to the pump is connected to the interface of the vacuum line. The drainage capacity of the pump is controlled by vacuum, which is also called variable vector control pump. It means that the heat dissipation capacity of the pump can be changed, and the purpose is to cooperate with the engine to control the water temperature to maximize the power of the engine.
This is the state in which the pump is turned off when the vacuum is at its maximum. A wall will be built around the pump to surround it because the pump cannot cut off power. Using another method to surround the pump, the drainage capacity of the pump is reduced, and then the variable vector control pump is realized.

Antifreeze is the champion brand from the United States, and the replacement cycle is about three years. Be sure to pay attention to protection when replacing ethylene glycol, because ethyl alcohol itself is toxic.
