[Car bumps] Handle engine emission lights on correctly handle them and restore them in a timely manner
Recently, when I was using the car, I found that the engine emission light was on, but sometimes it was on and sometimes it was not. I had been replacing the front oxygen sensor before the car inspection, thinking it wouldn’t be a problem with the front oxygen. While driving, I silently paid attention to the condition of the vehicle. I initially felt that nothing had any effect on power. I would deal with it on the weekend.
For faults, humans cannot make simple determinations, so use the 5053 data cable to connect the OBD of the vehicle to see what the fault code is.
Connect the computer, check the power on status of the vehicle, and then connect the vehicle through the software on the computer side.
Open the software and scan for trouble codes.
Sure enough, there was a fault code, which showed that the oxygen sensor heater control circuit was faulty.
There are 2 fault codes, which are gap faults.
It can basically be concluded that there is a problem with the front oxygen sensor, and the car is about to be inspected soon. Let’s replace it. It has been used for 12 years and its end is over.
Replacement is relatively simple. Use a large adjustable wrench to loosen it. Because it is not the first time, it is relatively simple and there is no problem of biting.
The plug is on the gearbox bracket, and the Polo chassis is relatively low. People have to lie down to find it.
The original car has been soaked in oxygen and washed many times, and I don’t want to trouble it anymore.
It still feels dirty.
After unscrewing, disconnect the connector below.
The mark of 081 is the front oxygen interface.
Compared with the old and the new, disassembly and assembly are relatively simple.
Insert new ones, tighten them by hand, and then use a wrench.
Don’t need to be too tight in case it won’t be easy to loosen next time.
Insert the bottom back as it is, so no trace can be seen.
When the vehicle was started again, the engine fault light had disappeared, indicating that the fault had been found correctly and the problem was successfully solved.
For old cars, it is normal to have some problems, so it can be handled correctly and restored in time.
