When taking apart the guard plate, it was found that there was a screw missing. No wonder one side of the guard plate fell off some time ago.
It turned out that the last time I went to 4s maintenance, it was broken by the master, and the broken screw was thrown in the car.
Remove the screws from the guard. There are two of them. I lost one of mine.
Break the guard plate and pull out the plastic cover on the side. The key point is to pull it out from the side, not to pull it out.
From this position, you can see that the broken end of the screw is still stuck inside.
Under normal circumstances, this position is empty after the screw is unscrewed.
There are two small holes on the left and right side of the guard plate, respectively corresponding to this position, so that the cover plate will not fall off.
Because one of mine is broken, the unfixed side will fall off.
Broken screws, plastic parts, look very fragile.
The hateful thing is that even if it is broken, it won’t give me a new one, and this one doesn’t cost much, but it still takes some time to take out the broken part.
The extracted old filter element looks OK on the surface, but the bottom is a little broken.
Break it apart and look at the mezzanine, it’s still a little dirty, but I don’t understand why it smells like a toilet.
It is possible that I have been hoarding for some time, and the air filter I used is still made in 2016.
At that time, it was still called Shanghai Volkswagen. It seems that hoarding depends on what kind of goods you are hoarding. Empty filter can not be hoarded much, and the effect is obviously reduced.
When I went to 4S for maintenance in the first half of the year, I bought another one while there was an activity. It was produced in March 2020, and it was still relatively fresh.
When installing, we should pay attention to the direction of air filter.
If you put it on end, it won’t fit in.
I remember the first time I changed it, I forgot how to put it.
If you really can’t remember, just take a look at the AIR FLOW arrow on the empty filter and follow the mark.

Usually, the air filter can be stuffed in without too much force. if it can’t reach the bottom, check to see if it is in the wrong direction, or if there is any foreign body in it.
After the air conditioner filter element is installed, install the plastic cover plate, you should also pay attention to the direction.
The plastic cover is not pressed up, it is pushed in from the side.
Just push sideways in the direction indicated by the arrow.
Insert the hook on the plastic cover plate into the socket reserved by the air conditioning filter element, so that it will not wobble when driving together, and at the same time, it can also ensure that the air conditioning filter element is installed smoothly, which will not affect the air flow in and out in the later stage.
Insert the cover back, remember to insert it on the side, don’t get a hard card from front to back, the design is less violent. Push sideways, hook, cover, it’s as simple as that.
If you operate it a few more times, you will be familiar with it. There is no need to spend money on 4S operation.
When the hook is stuck, just push the cover to the bottom.
Push to the end of the completion of the state, the edge of the air filter will be a little exposed, but does not affect the use
Finally, install the guard plate.
The protective plate is stuck under the glove box, and there is nothing to fix at the edge.
Be careful not to block the air outlet, and the baffle should be aligned with the outlet position when loading.
Since there is no one-to-one corresponding buckle, it depends on patience here. Insert the top of the glove box into the bottom of the glove box, and there are two empty spaces in the middle. You need to insert the screw and screw it on the plastic cover plate.
Finally, just align and tighten the screw through the two screw spaces reserved in the middle of the protective plate and the two spaces on the main body of the air filter box.
The whole process does not seem complicated, but it is a great test of physique and physical fitness. When changing, you need to lie in front of the seat, so the body will be in a twisted state, which is very uncomfortable; at the same time, you have to look for screw holes in the replacement process, confirm whether the air conditioner filter element is completely plugged in, and the head position is in a low position. it will cause the feeling of dizziness, so friends with poor figure and physical quality, try to choose more than 4s to ask the master for a free replacement service!
