It is now December, and driving safety in winter is particularly important. Many friends have replaced winter tires, which makes it easier to deal with ice and snow roads. However, the maintenance and inspection of tires must also be strengthened in normal times. For example, the tire pressure must be within a reasonable range. Within, the wear degree of the pattern should be uniform. If partial wear is found, it must be dealt with in a timely manner. Foreign objects in the pattern must be removed in a timely manner, etc. At the same time, the maintenance and inspection of the brake system is also very important. My Cruze has been running for 7 years. At the peak of brake system failures, it is time to do a maintenance of the brake cylinder!

The car of 7 is still in full bloom!

The first step to dismantle the brake cylinder is to support the tools!

Cover the wheels with stones to prevent the car from slipping.

Release the handbrake!

Next, loosen the fixing screws on the hub!

Lift up the wheel again

Remove the hub screws

In this way, you can remove the wheel hub smoothly. It’s entirely experience!

Toolbox comes on!

Loosen the brake cylinder positioning pin screw with a 10MM sleeve

Put two screws on a sub-pump, remove the lower one and loosen the upper one to turn the sub-pump over.

The brake pads were replaced last year, and the wear and tear are okay. This time, the main purpose is to replace the dust cover of the positioning pin and add some oil.

Make one right, make another.

Note that the two positioning pins look different, make no mistake.

Continue on the other side.

Give a close-up. The color of this oil is wrong. It’s too light. It’s quite warm. Has it been soaked in water?

It’s over, the ball head of the steering lever will be broken immediately!

There is also water in the right headlight!

The dust cover I replaced has been aging severely for 7 years. It makes me feel more at ease to replace it!
The replacement of the dust cover was relatively smooth this time. At the same time, two major problems with the vehicle were discovered, and we will have to spend money again in the future!
Ask if the headlight is flooded, what will happen no matter if it is left? Will it short out?
