It has been driving for 13 years, 130,000 kilometers, and oil has been found to be leaking for several months. The last time I went to 4S for maintenance, the technician said that it was best to handle it before winter. In winter, rubber is harder and can easily aggravate oil leaks.
Considering that the gasoline filter had never been replaced, I planned to replace it together.
So I bought MAN gasoline filters and two rubber pads at a certain treasure. (Different stores)
Later, after comparison, I didn’t dare to use a certain treasure rubber pad and replaced it with the original factory one.
Since it is a 4-cylinder engine, removing the oil radiator is more troublesome than a 6-cylinder engine. You need to remove a device behind the radiator before removing the radiator screws.
The entire replacement process took nearly 3 hours. I used to read some articles saying that I would replace it, but this time I read the master’s complete operation, and I felt it was too nonsense.
If these things are replaced in 4S, they may require 3 to 4K.
The actual cost is currently around 720.

A certain treasure has many burrs on the edge and the quality is worrying. There was no harm without comparison. After comparing it with the original factory, I decisively returned the product and replaced the original factory cooling pad.

This picture can clearly see that under the oil radiator, there is thick sludge contaminated due to oil seepage.

Remove the oil filter first.

Remove the oil radiator and you can see the black marks left by the aging of the rubber pad.

Remove the oil radiator and clean it.

Clean everything up and down before loading it.

Remove the aging rubber pad

The rubber pad that was checked was already very hard. It is also due to the aging of the rubber, which leads to poor sealing and oil leakage. BMW’s common problem.

Clean it, install the radiator back, and the rubber pad replacement work is completed.

The master said that the original car gasoline filter used to be aluminum, but now the new version has become plastic.

The X3’s gasoline filter is external, so it is relatively easy to replace. When you lift it up, you can see it when you remove the lower guard plate.
After installing the gasoline filter, go out for a test drive, and you’re done!
