I just received a Porsche Panamera 3.0T supercharged version. The owner reported that the engine is always hot when driving at low speeds, and the cooling effect of the air conditioning system is very poor. The mileage of oil was about to be changed, so I decided to do maintenance together to solve the problem of high temperature.
I checked that the refrigerant pressure in the air conditioner was sufficient, which showed that there was no shortage of refrigerant. The antifreeze used to dissipate heat from the engine is also not missing. However, if the cooling fan rotates for a long time, the cooling effect of the radiator is not good, and the heat cannot be lost, which leads to high temperatures.
After removing the front bar and seeing this scene, it was really difficult to imagine the high temperature. Can such a condenser have a good heat dissipation effect?
The same is true for the water tank, which is covered with fluff, tightly covering the radiator. The huge heat of the engine is dissipated by the radiator. If the radiator does not dissipate heat well, the engine will heat up sharply, the oil will lose its lubricating performance, and seriously, the engine will hug the tiles or pull the cylinders.
I used a washing gun to wash it for more than half an hour.
After cleaning, the radiator became extremely transparent.
Next, I started maintenance work. I chose JinMobil’s fully synthetic engine oil, model number 0W-40.
The old oil filter element is really dirty to the point that it cannot be seen.
This looks much better. Most high-end cars now use paper oil filters.
Oil filter elements have strict torque requirements and must be pre-tightened according to the manufacturer’s requirements.
Is the air filter element really super long? It should be the longest I have ever seen. The air filter element is placed directly above the air collection cover, and the air inlet is placed on both sides. Because the front space is really limited, the air filter can only be made into a slender shape.
The shape of the air-conditioning filter element is much better, but it is too dirty. The wrinkled gaps are really covered with all kinds of fluff and dust.
For Porsche’s special antifreeze, since the antifreeze pipeline must be removed before removing the cooling water tank, loss of the antifreeze is inevitable, so the antifreeze must be replenished.
Due to the unique engine design, vacuum must be pumped to fill the antifreeze. For this reason, I chose a special tool to replace the antifreeze.
First vacuum the expansion water tank, and then use vacuum to fill the antifreeze.
For the bolts of the front bar and chassis guard, most manufacturers still use bolts from outside for the core components of the engine. And mainly from Japan.
After installation, the vehicle was started for testing, because there were so many pipes in the front radiator. The vehicle needs to be lifted for bottom inspection, and the little brother is still serious.
The temperature at the air conditioner outlet is 8.8 degrees.

After the entire operation was completed, a two-hour road test was carried out. The vehicle no longer showed excessive high temperatures, the air conditioning and cooling effect were good, and the vehicle could be delivered smoothly.
