The space in the middle and third rows of Datong is very large. Although there are steel beams inside the roof, there is no rigid fixation between the roof and the steel beams. When the road conditions are not very good, there is often resonance noise between the ceilings of the second and third rows. A similar problem exists in the roof of the rear air conditioning controller in front of the second row. The controller is not fixed to the steel beam, and it is easy to cause abnormal noise when bumpy.

Referring to the practice of cyclist Happy Bamboo, I made four self-tapping screws on the roof myself, which perfectly solved the problem of abnormal noise in the roof.

Let’s first talk about the peripheral treatment of the air conditioning controller at the top of the second row. This is relatively simple. You can directly pull the air conditioning controller down and you can directly see the fixed steel beam inside. Roughly at this part of the controller, use an electric drill to make a hole through the ceiling to the steel beam, and then screw it on with a self-tapping screw. It’s fine. Because the roof has little weight, there is no need to use too thick screws.

Correspondingly, punch holes on the other side of the controller to install a screw.

Cover the controller panel so that it is almost invisible from the outside.

Let’s talk about the roof treatment of the second row. This operation is a bit complicated. First, you need to use a pin to tie the roof and find the steel beam in the middle (the reason why you use a pin is because the needle hole is small and cannot be seen after tying the roof).

The general position is above the seat belt hole in the middle row. If the pin cannot penetrate it, it will be the steel beam. After finding the steel beam, use an electric drill to make two holes equally spaced from left to right, and fix it with self-tapping screws. When punching holes, remember not to use too hard to prevent damaging the inner iron sheet of the ceiling after piercing the steel beams.

I used ordinary screws, but the appearance was not very good, but it did solve the problem of abnormal sound. Drivers who require high details can find special screws for interior interiors online. The tail should be better and will not affect the overall appearance at all.
