Question 1: whether it needs to be replaced. Some car owners say that if the gearbox is smooth and smooth, there is no frustration in the up and down gears, and the gearbox noise does not change much at high speed, there is no need to change the gearbox oil. It is understood that gearbox oil, like engine oil, has the function of lubrication, cleaning and cooling, and has a service life; if it is not replaced for a long time, the quality of the oil will certainly decline, and the decrease of viscosity will lead to a decline in lubrication and cooling performance. poor sealing results in unstable oil pressure, high oil temperature, heat dissipation hindrance and metal chips caused by gearbox wear will also increase internal wear. Automatic gearbox is one of the three major components of the vehicle, once there is something wrong with the transmission system, the repair cost is relatively high, so the gearbox oil also needs to be replaced after driving for a certain kilometer.
Question 2: whether to replace it in 4S store or other maintenance chain store. The internal parts of the automatic gearbox are particularly precise, and the structure of the automatic gearbox is more complex than that of the manual gearbox. Once there is a problem with the automatic gearbox, the gearbox assembly is replaced even in the 4S store, and the gearbox will not be disassembled and overhauled. Therefore, we should pay more attention to the routine maintenance of the gearbox. 4S store has the technical support of manufacturers, the use of oil materials is guaranteed, but the cost is relatively high; the cost of maintenance chain store replacement is relatively low, but the technical level is different. Personally, I think it is better not to choose a small maintenance shop that is not very formal by the roadside. Although the cost is less, if there is a problem with the gearbox, the loss will be great.
Question 3: whether to replace it by gravity method or cycle method. 4S adopts the gravity method to change the gearbox oil, and the roadside maintenance chain can choose the gravity method or the cycle replacement method, which is actually a matter of opinion. The gravity method uses less oil, so it is necessary to disassemble the oil pan and further release the oil, and replace the filter element and gasket; the circulation method uses a large amount of oil, and if necessary, the oil pan should be removed and the filter element and gasket should be replaced. Therefore, if it is convenient, leave it to the 4S store to finish it.
The above long-winded a lot, the level of rookies, may be a lot of wishful thinking.
Let’s get to the point, using the gravity method to replace the automatic transmission oil, and at the same time replace the gearbox filter element and gasket.
After arriving at the store, check the vehicle and fill in the vehicle information. After entering the lift station of the workshop, the vehicle is lifted.

After removing the engine guard plate, we can see that there are two oil sumps in the lower part of the engine cabin, and the two oil sumps are similar in appearance, and they also have an oil discharge screw. The one on the right is the oil sump, and the one on the left is the gearbox oil sump (front direction).

Unscrew the oil drain screw on the oil pan of the gearbox and drain the oil until it is no longer dripping continuously. The color of the oil released is still slightly reddish, which means that the quality of the oil is not too bad.


Unscrew the fixing screw around the oil pan and remove the oil pan, you can see the residual oil in the oil pan and two rectangular magnets used to absorb impurities. Gaskets can be seen around the oil pan.


After removing the oil pan, expose the filter element (silver part) in the lower part of the gearbox and remove the filter element.

The following are 5 barrels of automatic transmission oil (1L/ barrel), 1 filter element and 1 gasket that need to be replaced.


In the process of continuing to control the oil, clean the oil pan and two magnets. After cleaning, put the magnet in the original position and install the new gasket on the oil pan.

Install the oil pan and prepare to fill the gearbox oil

I don’t know what this refueling device is called. There is a pressure handle and a connecting pipe on an iron bucket. Let’s call it a tanker for the time being.

Add 5 barrels of gearbox oil to the refueling barrel


Connect one end of the oil barrel connecting pipe to the empty oil discharge screw in the lower part of the oil pan, press manually, press continuously, and add the oil to the gearbox.


Remove the connecting pipe and see the natural outflow of red oil (the technician said that the use of this gearbox is 5L, which is now normal, if it does not flow out, it means less, or sprays out, it means more).

Screw the oil drain screw on the oil pan (as if this screw has not been replaced, remember to change the oil every time)

Clean the residual oil on the oil pan and check it. Install the engine guard plate in place. At this point, the whole process of changing the gearbox oil is completed.


As for the cost of changing the automatic transmission oil, it is indeed a little high. 5L gearbox oil 1063 yuan, filter element 529 yuan, gasket 620 yuan, plus discounted working hours totaling 2493 yuan.
