What is the North Star? Polaris performance optimization adds driving pleasure and improves the performance of your Volvo vehicle. The technology was developed in close collaboration with engineers from Polaris and Volvo. Vehicle driving feels more proactive and can also improve safety in situations where higher performance is required such as overtaking.
The focus of all engine optimizations is on torque and power within the driver’s usual speed range, the intermediate range. Engine performance is improved when it is most needed (long uphill or overtaking), further enhancing safety as better acceleration reduces the time required to overtake.
For cars equipped with Drive-E engines, not only is engine power optimized, but also transmission and throttle response. The gearbox shifts faster, does not shift gears in the middle of a curve during active driving, and the throttle response has been recalibrated for a more proactive driving control. All of this is provided without certified increases in fuel consumption and emissions levels, which means the car’s impact on the environment remains the same.
The optimization can only be installed by an meized Volvo dealer, while continuing to enjoy Volvo’s original warranty, and installation can be completed quickly when the car enters the factory for repair or tire replacement.

There was always a little dissatisfaction before the upgrade. There was always a delay of one or two seconds in the red light starting stage. After a period of groping, I found that the previous lag was no longer, the shifting smoothness was enhanced, and the acceleration performance in the middle and rear sections was improved. It has been a lot improved compared with before the upgrade. I don’t feel that there has been much increase in fuel consumption. It is basically the same as before the upgrade (8.2-8.9 in cities; between 6.9-7.5 at high speeds). This fuel consumption is based on personal driving style and driving habits. Brushing Polaris has a certain effect and can effectively improve the performance and indicators of the car. However, the high price is a problem that prevents many car lovers from upgrading Polaris.
