Braking is an important part of vehicle driving safety. Good braking performance can protect yourself and others. It is often said that Volvo’s brake pads are not durable. In fact, they are not expensive for Volvo. This problem exists in almost all cars that use ceramic brake pads. This is also a shortcoming of ceramic brake pads. But why do we still use ceramic brake pads? The advantages of ceramic brake pads have the following four points: 1. High temperature resistance. During continuous braking, when the temperature reaches 500 degrees, the brake pads will not deform or melt, and they still have excellent braking performance. It is manifested in the large braking torque and short braking distance. 2. The damage to the paired parts is small. The service life of brake pads in the paired part (brake disc) is longer, which is more than 20% longer than that of semi-metal brake pads. 3. Low noise. In wading state and saltwater road state, there is no scream during braking, and the braking performance is good. In this way, the benefits of ceramic brake pads far outweigh the disadvantages!

45,000 kilometers, the front brakes are more worn, but in order to save one run, I decided to replace them all at once! The following is the actual replacement process:
