We all know that the normal working temperature of the engine is generally about 90 °, just like the human body temperature of 36.5 °is basically constant, what does it rely on to keep the temperature 90 °basically unchanged? It is realized by the continuous circulation of coolant in the engine body, which is an indispensable heat dissipation medium for the normal operation of the engine. It not only has the function of cooling, but also has the function of anti-freezing and anti-corrosion (adding anti-rust agent. Little corrosion to common metals in the cooling system, no corrosion to non-metallic materials) and anti-fouling function.
But we should pay attention to the following requirements when using coolant to add to our car:
1. Choose the coolant according to the freezing point of the coolant of your original car, which is generally at least 10 °lower than the lowest temperature in the area in use.
2. Choose the product that meets the requirements of the national standard (preferably the same as the original car), carefully understand the indicators of the product, and observe that the coolant should be clear and transparent, no impurities, no smell, and have eye-catching color.
3. After the coolant time has been long, the density of the coolant should be checked. If the density becomes smaller, the coolant content is insufficient and the freezing point is high, so the coolant should be replenished in time.
4. in order to save money, tap water or pure water should not be used instead of coolant.
5. the coolant should be renewed in time when it has been used for 4 years or more than 40,000 kilometers.
6. Coolants of different brands, different specifications and different colors can not be mixed to avoid precipitation and poor performance.

First, I recently found that the coolant level of my car has dropped a lot, and I have reached the warning line. Call my 4S store service manager and think that I can add it directly.
The first thing to do is to open the hood. The mechanism is in the left foot of the cab.
It just so happens that my trunk has the original car coolant that I asked for last time and the service manager can use (the remaining change has been used). The performance and specification are the same as the coolant used in my car: G12,-35 °, red, it is safe to use, and the quantity is enough for me to use.

The production date is November 18, 2019, which should be relatively new (this coolant is valid for 3 years).
Second, the specific operation steps
First of all, you must wait for the car to cool completely before opening the coolant tank, because when the car is running, the temperature and pressure of the coolant are relatively high, so it is very dangerous to open the tank lid at this time, there is a risk of burning, so you must operate in a cold car.
The lid is tight and must be rotated counterclockwise until a click is heard, because there is a slot on the inside.
Did you see that? There is a high temperature hazard warning on the lid of the tank.
This is the inside of the lid, and the inside is what I call the bayonet slot. The lid is exquisite, thick and of high quality, and the inside has the serial number of the original parts.
There is some white powder on the inside of the lid, which should be the deposit produced by the coolant at high temperature and high pressure. In order to prevent it from falling into the coolant tank and affecting the coolant performance, wipe it clean with a clean paper towel.
Similarly, there are such white deposits in the grooves above the tank. Due to the narrow space of the grooves, it is troublesome to clean them up. Use wet towels carefully, and it is best to use a vacuum cleaner to prevent the powder from getting into the tank.
Before replenishing the coolant, it is necessary to carefully observe whether the coolant in the tank is clear and transparent, pure and free of impurities. if it is found that there is sediment in the turbidity, it is best to go to the 4S store to replace it. As can be seen from the picture above, the quality of my car coolant is good. Just add a little bit.
Because the coolant is corrosive to a certain extent, it is necessary to operate carefully, it is best to wear rubber gloves or disposable plastic gloves when filling, pay attention to the upper and lower limit scale at any time, add slowly, and try not to exceed it. It is not “too much oil is not bad food”, too much and too little will affect the performance of the engine.
