I have obtained the special tool for the rear wheel bearings of the Buick Sail, and I will surpass the professional one in this game.
Buick Sail has a long history. The rear wheel is a pair of drum brakes. Although the structure is simple, the advantage is that the shoe brakes have a long friction life. Generally, the front wheel is replaced 2-3 times before the rear wheel is replaced.
Sail’s rear axle uses two tapered roller bearings. See my other post for the structure-here is a detailed explanation of the installation of tapered roller bearings on the rear wheel of Sail.// www.xcar.com.cn/bbs/viewthread.php? tid=94669540。
In the past, the rear wheel bearings were replaced by acquaintances in the 4S shop. In fact, they also used a very crude method to install them, which was to knock out the outer ring of the bearing with a screwdriver and hit the outer ring of the bearing with a hammer. This is completely inconsistent with the installation of tapered roller bearings. Standard procedures can easily cause early failure of the bearing. The previously replaced SKF bearings made in Germany have been used for less than 100,000 kilometers.
The Shanghai General Maintenance Manual is still quite standardized. Special tools are used to assemble and disassemble it. The tool model, KM-266, is marked in the maintenance handpiece. I wanted to borrow it from a local 4S store, but as always, they were gone.
What should I do? I checked the imperialist information and found out whether this KM-266 tool was produced by KENT MOORE Company in the United States or MADE IN USA. The United States is really amazing. From the perspective of the automobile industry alone, from the most basic bolts and bearings, to engines and gearboxes, to engine control systems for automobile appliances, all of them have R & D and manufacturers, and they are all of them at the top level. The US Empire is definitely the most powerful player in the world. If conflict is inevitable, I hope it is not the US Empire.
Fortunately, the United States still sells it, although this car has been discontinued for nearly 20 years. Asked most Haitao transshipment companies, they heard that it was a tool and refused to transship. Fortunately, there was a company that could transfer goods and immediately place orders from the United States. After a long wait, this KM-266 special tool from MADE IN USA came to me.
The physical objects are as follows:

The physical objects are as follows:
The left is for installing the bearing outer ring, the second one from left to right is for removing the small bearing outer ring, the third is for the pressure rod, and the fourth is for removing the large bearing outer ring.
Remove the outer ring. As shown in the photo, it can be easily removed by pressing the bearing outer ring by grooving the hub.
The small bearing outer ring can be easily pressed in by placing it on the first layer of the press-in bearing tool
The large bearing outer ring can be easily pressed in by placing it on the second layer of the press-in bearing tool
Press in the outer bearing outer ring using KM-266
This tool is simple in design and easy to use. Combined with the press, the Sail rear wheel bearings can be disassembled and disassembled accurately and regularly, fully meeting the standards of the bearing manufacturers. If there is no press, tapping can also be used. The interference of the rear wheel bearing is not large, and the knocking force is enough to knock out and into the outer ring of the bearing. But it’s best to use a non-seat hammer. I use SATA, which is of good quality.
I have finished replacing the rear wheel bearings and the operation is smooth. I think this game surpasses the professional players of China and the American Empire.
Come back and do detailed homework when you have time.
Another year has passed by. May my Sail accompany me further. I also wish you a happy New Year!
THE END。
