But many people only know the importance of engine filter, but there may be a little awareness of the importance of air filter. The air filter element is the same as the mask we wear on haze days. It is mainly used to block dust, sand and other impurities in the air. Despite the fact that this component is inconspicuous and inexpensive, it plays an extremely important role. Without this air filter element, the wear of the engine is quite fatal, the wear is intensified, and it will also cause insufficient combustion, which will cause impurity deposition and carbon deposition over a long period of time.
Individual actual car environment is different, so there is no absolute standard for air filter element replacement, because it depends on the amount of dust and impurities absorbed by the air filter. And my car environment belongs to the countryside, and I need to run everywhere with the car every autumn, so I personally change it more frequently. Now my Xiao Bai Lang’s air filter element has been replaced for the third time. Now the car has run 27610 kilometers except that the filter element I brought when I was doing the second guarantee in the 4S store for the first time was put on by the maintenance master. The second time there was 18000KM, which was replaced with the air conditioner filter element. Now I have basically run 9000KM again. I will change the air filter element for the third time and check the carbon deposition of the throttle by the way.
We usually know that changing oil and machine filter need a shelf to lift the car, and it is troublesome to have no equipment, but we can replace the air filter ourselves, and it is very simple. And you don’t need specific complex tools.
Some models are buckle style and do not need tools, but each has its own advantages and disadvantages, the buckle is not as firm as the screw fastening. For example, our Lang Yi only needs to prepare two things, a new air filter and a screwdriver.
First of all, we pull the engine cabin lever from the driving position.
Then open the engine compartment in front, and there is another lock that we need to break with our hands to open.
The time is a little more tiring. Here are 9 screws that we need to open slowly with a screwdriver. Do you have a sore hand? do you feel sour?
If you just change the filter element, you can only open the lower 7 screws, the top one does not need to be opened, lift the cover plate to replace the filter element do not remove all the cover plate. But because I need to check the throttle, I have to remove it all.
If you just look at the old filter element, it’s a little discolored, but it’s not very dirty.
But when we take out the new filter element, it is very obvious, especially when the comparison between the two is more obvious.
Then put the new filter element in the direction of the old filter element, you don’t have to worry that the rectangle is not square when you put the wrong filter element.
Then check the throttle, although there is no bar throttle removed, but you can press your hand to see if the reverse side is dirty. For cleaning the throttle, I didn’t remove the throttle because the light was still cold at night. I just wiped it (mainly lazy). Since our current car throttle is controlled by a computer, we need two people to operate it. One person opens the car key to the ACC gear. In this way, another person stepped on the throttle in the car, so we could wipe the throttle, forgot to take a picture of the dirty throttle, only took a picture of what was finished, and the wipe was clean, right?
Finally, we install the cover of the filter element and fasten the screw. Special attention must be paid to check the contact between the throttle and the cover plate to prevent the cover from being tight and the air leakage will not work.
