This is a project on gearbox disassembly and repair. Here are different processes for dismantling and repair car gearbox problems. I look forward to everyone’s reading and comments.
The car that came to the store for repair today is a 2013 Buick LaCrosse, a 2.4L SIDI Elite Comfort model, equipped with a 6-speed automatic manual transmission (AT). The customer stated that it is not possible to move the car and the gearbox needs to be repaired.

The meter displays 367235 kilometers.

Connect to a computer to detect fault codes;

Opening inspection;

Prepare for disassembly and maintenance (remove the power supply first);

Put it on the shelf and prepare to remove the gearbox;

After being put on the shelf;(There is leakage in the bottom shell of the gearbox)

Traces of leaking antifreeze;

Remove the bottom frame;

Drop the gearbox;

Put it on the workbench and prepare to disassemble the gearbox;

Coupler;

Remove the gearbox oil pan;

After disassembling the bottom shell;

Position of the valve body after removing the bottom shell;(The black valve body, the maintenance technician said that it should be caused by adding inferior gearbox oil)

Oil pan (oily bottom shell);

Prepare to remove the valve body;

Removed valve body;

After disassembling the gearbox shell, the internal parts were seriously oily;

Dismantling internal parts;

Disassembled friction plates and steel plates;

Reverse piston;

Inside the disassembled valve body; oil pollution has caused blockage inside the valve body;

Clean transmission parts;

Clean the transmission housing;

Comparison of friction lining replacement;

Replacement of reverse piston;

Install on shelves after assembly is completed.
This gearbox unpacking maintenance was mainly due to friction plate wear, piston damage, and valve body damage caused by the addition of inferior gearbox oil to the internal gearbox, resulting in the phenomenon of not moving; then the damaged parts were replaced and the gearbox oil was replaced. The fault was cleared after the master’s test run.
Friendly reminder: When the vehicle is in use, if the vehicle feels frustrated and locks up, in serious cases, it will lead to failures such as not moving, high fuel consumption, and poor shifting quality, which will directly affect traffic safety and threaten the safety of the driver and the passenger. Therefore, during the daily maintenance of the car, the safety issue of the automatic gearbox must not be ignored.
