Octavia replaced the reversing mirror turn signal
I haven’t seen you for a long time. I’m here to liven up the atmosphere again. If I have a good post, I’ll share it with you. Recently, the turn signal of my car doesn’t work well. I mean the turn signal on the reversing mirror. It should be said for a long time. But because I don’t care, it has not been replaced for a long time, but not changing for a long time will affect driving safety, so recently I have time to change it quickly. Sharing with you is to improve your own hands-on ability. Learn the knowledge!
Turn on the emergency flasher
The emergency flasher of the whole car is on, this is the co-driver’s reversing mirror turn light is on.
The steering light of the reversing mirror of the main driver is not on. I analyzed the reason, because the steering signal was on before, but I found that the light was getting dimmer and dimmer, sometimes even not at all, or not when it was on, so my analysis should be that the steering signal was broken.
To change the turn signal, you must first remove the reversing lens and press one end with a little pressure with your fingers.
There can be a gap on the other side and fingers can be stuffed in.
The next step is to use the crowbar, that is, the one I have in my hand, which is usually available online, or when you buy accessories, there is a card buckle to fix the mirror, so you have to lift the buckle to make the mirror fall off. but because the gap is too small, the phone camera can’t see the structure inside, so let’s unload it for everyone’s analysis.
The mirror fell off.
The buckle I marked is used to fix it, so this is the buckle that is pried with a crowbar, and the mirror will fall off.
The buckle is stuck in this position, of course, the whole circle is fixed by the buckle.
The next step is to remove the screw, because this screw is used to secure the reversing mirror turn signal.
There’s another screw. Remove both of them.
You may wonder why I took the sharp-nosed pliers when I removed the screws, because the screwdriver is too narrow to use, even a short screwdriver, so I use sharp-nosed pliers.
Sharp-nosed pliers can hold the screw.
It’s still easy to unload.
The same is true on the other side.
The screws are rusty. If you have a spare, you’d better replace them.
The turn signal is almost off.
There is also a clasp fixed before unloading. The following picture is analyzed.
This clasp
And this clasp, both of them are fixed, but the screws have been removed, and this clasp only plays an auxiliary role.
The connection of the light bulb needs to be unplugged.
Right, close-up.
The old one was completely unloaded.
The new turn signal is on camera.
Compare the new with the old
Exactly the same.
The next step is to install, first to plug in the light bulb.
This pair of plugs also have a buckle, and the buckle can be fixed.
Just check and fix it.
The point is, after the bulb is plugged in, turn on the turn signal to see if it is on, and make sure the light is on before continuing the installation.
This clip needs to be inserted into the reversing mirror shell to pay attention to so that it can match.
The same is true on the back of the reversing mirror, and the clip is completely jammed in.
No problem. It will be the next one.
All the clasps only play the role of auxiliary fixation, and screw fixation is the key point.
Or tighten the screws with sharp-nosed pliers
The same is true on the other side.
Perfectly fixed
Finally, the fixed mirror is installed. I can see that the eight clasps I marked on the picture are fixed on the reversing mirror, that is, the position of the following picture.
If it is fixed on this circle, it will get stuck in ok.
Perfect installation, and then take a look at the effect, the brightness is not bad, and then look at the effect at night, more obvious
It’s not bad, isn’t it? it feels successful.
To sum up, the process is a little complicated, but it can be replaced as long as you like to do it, and it can also save costs and improve your hands-on ability. Personally, I think it’s very good, so I also encourage you to solve small problems on your own. Thank you.
