Some time ago, the wiper wiper had made a strange noise and replaced it with a new wiper. The replaced old wipers are always left at home. Recently, due to the impact of the epidemic, I was at home, and I saw the wipers that had been placed for a long time, and I had the idea of polishing the wipers.
2. Polishing the wipers:
1. Clean the wipers:
Take out the old wipers that have been left behind for a long time
I took out the old wiper and saw that there was a lot of dust on the wiper, so I decided to clean the wiper first.
Tools for cleaning and polishing wipers: Used toothbrushes and sandpaper (sandpaper with more than 2000 mesh is best, but I use 1000 mesh. In extraordinary times, sandpaper with more than 2000 mesh is not easy to buy.)
Take out the basin and pour a little detergent. Detergent has the effect of removing dirt and lubricating.
Put a wiper in the basin
Take out the old toothbrush and start cleaning it up
The dust inside and outside of the wiper must be cleaned
There is a lot of dust in the gap between the soft rubber wiper blade
There is a lot of dust in the gaps, so we should focus on cleaning them up
Compare one wiper that has been cleaned with another wiper that has not been cleaned. Everyone can see the difference at a glance. The cleaning effect is still OK.
Use the same method to clean the other wiper. This is the clean water after cleaning the wiper. The clean water becomes very dirty.
Pour away the dirty water and rinse the cleaned wipers with clean water. Rinse it several times to ensure that the dust on the wiper is cleaned.
2. Polishing the wipers:
Take out sandpaper and use scissors to cut the corners
Cut out a very small piece of sandpaper
Fold the cut fine sandpaper in half
Immerse the sandpaper in water and polish it in water (be sure to polish it in water, otherwise it will cause great damage to the wiper blade)
Start polishing the wiper blade. Because the sandpaper is too small, the wiper blade is very soft and can be polished in one direction, which saves time and convenience. It can also be polished back and forth in sections, one short section at a time. Drivers decide for themselves which polishing method they prefer.
Polishing is a meticulous job. Look at the polishing contact area, sandpaper often slips off on the wiper blade
After polishing for a period of time, the aging part of the wiper blade has been almost polished. Look at the black color falling from the old part of the wiper blade on your hands.
Touch the polished wiper blade with your fingers. It is smoother and feels that it can be polished
3. Replace the wipers:
Take the polished wiper and come to the car
Insert the key, turn the key to the power position, do not start the car, and then remove the wiper handle.
Turn the wiper to the service position
Lift the wiper in the main driver’s seat. The middle button position of the wiper is the key to removing the wiper
Press down on the button
Pull up the wiper with your hand (move slowly, be careful, and don’t scratch yourself)
The wipers were removed.
Remove the wiper in the passenger seat in the same way

Take out the polished wiper and compare it with the one you are using. The polished wiper feels like a new wiper.
Install the polished wiper. Loading is simple, just insert it directly down.

1. Be sure to clean the old wipers before polishing them.
2. Use more than 2000 mesh sandpaper, the thinner the better.
3. If the polishing effect is not good, you can polish it repeatedly.
4. The wiper strips are seriously aging and do not need to be polished. They need to be replaced with new wipers or wiper blades.
