Share the feeling of running four-wheel drive in the snow today

This morning, after watching the EDG game, I was a little excited. Coincidentally, it was snowing again outside, so I couldn’t sleep, so I ran out for a walk.

The car is a 21 model 530LI four-wheel drive with original Pirelli tires. The snow has just fallen and is not thick yet.

In the past, there was more time to drive rear-drive, but because I lacked confidence in running in the snow, I booked a four-wheel drive this time.

Compared with the start, I feel that BMW’s four-wheel drive is still very useful compared to the rear drive and front drive. It is not easy to get stuck in the car, it is not easy for the tires to idle, and it is no problem if the snow is thick. There are pictures in the back.

When the turning angle is too large and the speed is too fast, the grip of the original tire is obviously insufficient, and tail flick is very easy to occur. The timely intervention of electronic slip restrictions can help correct most of the tail flick, but it is still quite dangerous to have other vehicles driving on the road at the same time.

The braking is also due to the tire, and the distance is much longer than that on dry roads. If you step on it a little deeper, the ABS will intervene, but the stability of the body is still good.

In rainy and snowy weather, it is recommended to step on the brakes deeply after going out when there is no car in front and rear, test the braking distance in advance, and feel the feeling of ABS intervention in advance.

In the afternoon, I went out to find an empty street and took a detour. The thickness of the snow exceeded the thickness of the tires.

Because there were no vehicles in front of and behind, I ran a few laps.

Below the snow is asphalt pavement. With this thickness of snow, there is no problem to start with, and the braking distance is much better than on thin snow.

Students who are struggling with four-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive can consider rear-wheel drive + snow tires. I think it should be better than four-wheel drive ordinary tires; or four-wheel drive + optional tires, the cost is more expensive, and some exclusive configurations are not yet available.

Friends who are obsessed with long and short axes, if they drive more, choose short axes; if there are more people in the family, choose long axes.

I tried drifting, but I couldn’t play, but that’s how the ruts were…

With this thickness of snow, if you step on the accelerator again, the vehicle will limit the power output of all four wheels, increase the torque, start slowly, and then the speed will slowly increase. On the way back, I met two front-driving cars starting in situ with idling tires. After watching for a minute, they didn’t move in situ. In summary, BMW’s four-wheel drive on ice and snow roads> front drive> rear drive.

When I came back, the car body was already in double color.
