It has been nearly 2 months since the new car was brought back ~ it has been more than 5,000 kilometers. For the four dynamic modes in the car, I think we can talk about it separately. Let some prospective car owners understand the characteristics of this car.

Personally, I feel that the G38 five series of this generation is made for comfort. According to the urine properties of BMW before, it is hard to imagine that this car only has SPORT without SPORT+, but not only this car has COMFORT mode, but there is also COMFORT PLUS. There is also a very fresh ECO mode. Oh, by the way, I think there is a key model, ADAPTIVE model, which is easy for most people to ignore. How big and how obvious the gap is, let’s first take a look at the ECO model.

Open the driving information table that can only be called up in ECO mode.

There are three big points in ECO mode.
1. Taxiing mode, this mode can be a little difficult to accept at first. If you are used to the slow slowing down of engine braking in an automatic car, you will feel that the throttle is still running and the thief who is still running is fast. Because I often run the highway, I feel that this is actually quite chicken ribs. If you think the speed is fast, you have to release the throttle, but the speed of the throttle does not slow down much. Either the distance between you and the car in front of you is loosened in advance, or you put on the brake. Rarely step on a slide and then step on a foot when the road conditions are very good. It feels a little silly, but when you are in taxiing mode, the meter will show how many kilometers you have taxied and how many more kilometers you can run with the fuel you save. For ordinary car owners who are not in a hurry. Maybe it’ll help. Oh, by the way, the engine is flameout in taxiing mode. Even idle fuel can be saved.
two。 Brake idle mode, this should be in line with the previous taxiing mode, because the engine does no work when taxiing, and it is a hidden danger to the oil relative to brake steering, you can imagine the feeling of stepping on the brake and hitting the direction under the condition of flameout. So as soon as you step on the brake, you will immediately ignite in idle mode to provide the corresponding mechanism with normal function.
3. Brake charging, this is nothing to say, many people understand that charging the battery for the car appliances and the next self-start-stop charging.

Loose brake in taxiing state ~ this state should be the focus of fuel saving in ECO mode. However, it should not be able to skate much meters in the urban area, and it should be rewarded if you are patient on the highway.

As soon as you hit the brake, the engine starts at idle speed.

Switch to charging state after braking continuously

This thing is also an inspiration. Otherwise, you really don’t have much patience to use this ECO mode.

Oh, right. There is also an ECO PRO mode. An ECO mode can even select the gearbox site steering wheel into SPORT mode ~ excuse me, BMW wants to do that. Might as well add a SPORT PLUS mode

Did you see the mileage increase to 1.8. It took almost 18 kilometers to get to this point.

Unremitting efforts finally opened to two all five stars ~ too tired. no, no, no. It’s not for this picture. I don’t have the patience.

Basically, the ECO model can save about 10% of fuel consumption by converting the increased mileage to the actual mileage. But the air conditioner will be weakened, the lights will be weakened, and the throttle responsiveness will be reduced ~ equal to the comfort for fuel consumption. Whether you like it or not, I don’t know. Anyway, I don’t have the patience.

There is nothing to say about COMFORT mode ~ the default mode is already on the bus, if you press it more, you will come out of COMFORT PLUS mode, and there is nothing to say. That is, the rear air suspension is a little softer.

There is no big change feeling.

BMW’s original SPORT model has been weakened on the G38. It goes without saying that the reverse wheel will be heavier and the suspension will be stronger when switching to SPORT mode. But I don’t know why the car is too long or because of the air suspension. I feel that after 120, it will make some people feel very guilty. I am not talking about the unstable car, the car is still very stable, but it makes people feel that there is no sense of stability. The steering wheel training feels a little rigid, aggravated in order to get heavier, and there is still a gap between the directional feeling and the three series and so on. Personal feelings if on the highway or drive SPORT mode is more appropriate, then open COMFORT mode will feel that the whole car and power match is poor, especially the steering wheel may be deliberately adjusted for comfort, Shanghai recently typhoon, in the highway by the wind, then your steering wheel slight correction will still drive, to a little larger range to straighten, will be a little flustered feeling. Although SPORT doesn’t feel very good to me, it is much better than COMFORT mode.

The steering wheel site will be adjusted accordingly.

The dashboard will also turn red, but I don’t think it looks good.

It can cooperate with the instrument combination, but. Do you need this for G38.

SPORT personality model this is pure pants fart. If you don’t always transfer SPORT, then why do you drive SPORT~?

This is the only gimmick, you will feel the flank move, just move.

I think the main point can be talked about this ADAPTIVE model. Many people should not drive it. In fact, this mode is an artifact. When the car first came back, I thought the COMFORT mode was stupid. I couldn’t step on the power lightly. I didn’t feel very satisfied with the ZF gearbox at that time. Last time I attended the all-series test driving meeting of BMW M, the BMW coach told me that I could open more of this ADAPTIVE model, which would have a learning function and be able to learn how you drive and optimize it in COMFORT mode. I didn’t know there was another model until he told me that. As soon as you turn on this mode, you will feel that the car is in the middle of COMFORT and SPORT mode, the power will be better, and the gearbox will be a little more positive. The reverse wheel will also weigh a little bit, which is equal to half of the SPORT mode. After I drove about a thousand kilometers, basically, the COMFORT mode has been able to predict my movements very well, and I feel that there is still a relatively obvious change in the COMFORT mode when I first got the car. And I think the better thing about this function is that when you want to save fuel and don’t want to drive SPORT mode, you want to be more aggressive ~ this mode will definitely satisfy you.

I didn’t know this function existed until the coach came back to talk to me.

In terms of appearance, there is only a line of difference, but the driving experience will be optimized a lot.

I think the most amazing thing about the adaptive suspension is that you can still maintain a high degree of comfort in the car, which really feels like a small seven-series.

Finally, let’s sum up ~ I have the feeling of adaptive suspension, which may be different from the ordinary suspension experience.

Adaptive suspension comfort is really okay, but it will be compromised if it feels sporty. So if you say that is better, I think each has its own advantages.

The B58 has a very sufficient power reserve, but its output is still relatively lazy when it is not in the corresponding mode. If you don’t feel satisfied in COMFORT mode, you can try ADAPTIVE~ SPORT. Really.. It’s still more fuel-intensive, hahahaha.

This generation of G38 Five Series has obviously compromised to comfort. I think the ECO mode is more gimmick than practical ~ ADAPTIVEE mode loves it. The rest is just as usual.
