For the sake of order of occurrence, the reasons and solutions for oil leakage after the replacement of the crankshaft rear oil seal and the transmission front oil seal are put at the end of this post.
At the end of last year or the beginning of this year, when the thermostat was being replaced in the specialty shop, the master of the specialty shop was inspecting and found that there was oil stains on the gearbox near the engine, and a drop of oil gathered there. I don’t know when it would drip.
The master then suggested that consideration should be given to replacing the gearbox oil seal and crankshaft oil seal.
So I went to replace it on January 11 this year. After searching the forum for relevant replacement operations, I was prepared for the construction duration and scene.
After a day’s homework, the little brother who had been helping me maintain the store completed the replacement (there should be two people, but the festival is approaching and there is insufficient manpower, so the little brother has been working hard all day)

After lifting it up, you can just see the filter base and the replaced Bakelite tube.

The leaked transmission oil and oil stains can be seen when the chassis guard is removed. Before the oil seal was replaced, the severity was only this, unlike the oil that occurred after parking, which overflowed the guard plate and leaked to the ground.

This is the hydraulic torque converter. Please don’t forget to change the oil here as well.

Remove the 7-speed PLUS version of the gearbox. It’s much shorter than expected.

After the replacement is completed, the effect of the replacement cannot be immediately known. You have to run some miles and return for inspection again to see if the replacement is in place and the seal is intact.
On February 4, I went there for an inspection and found oil stains, but there were no leaks from the guard plate that would overflow when parking. After checking, the little brother suspected that it was oil overflowing from the torque converter. He cleaned up the oily areas and guard plates and asked me to continue driving. Observe more, and come back if there is any problem.
On February 19, after parking the car in the parking space for two days, I wanted to use it in the afternoon and found that there were oil stains under the car. Opening the front cover can also drain the oil on the guard plate.
Cancel the car, contact the specialist repair shop, and make an appointment for inspection.
