The front brake disc and brake pads were replaced the year before last, but what I bought at that time seemed to be Taobao brake pads, maybe it was too hard, I always felt that the brake could not die, and I was confused about these times.
See TRW in the discount, decisively hit the front brake pads.
Before the modification of the disc brake, I also bought this brand of TRW again, which seems to be not bad. For the softer brake pads, the brake strength should be stronger.
In addition, the front brake disc does not feel very bright all the time, while the rear brake disc is as bright as new, probably because of the brake pads.
So this time, I replaced the front brake pads ~ ~ do it myself. I have had the experience of replacing the rear brake pads by myself before, so this time I am still handy in replacing the front brake pads.
Approximate material cost:
The original price of ① TRW front brake pads is 199yuan. JD.com fans are priced at 169yuan.
② TRW brake system maintenance set 57 yuan (in fact, there is no need to buy, I am in order to make up for 299 minus 100 activities)
③ boasts carburetor cleaning agent 10.6 yuan / bottle x3 bottle 31.8 yuan
Total material cost of ④: RMB 257

TRW brake system maintenance kit + front brake pad packaging

All accessories of front brake pads used in Polo

Packing description and friction coefficient of origin: 0.44
I don’t know what this friction coefficient means.

The accessories of TRW maintenance kit are quite complete.
High temperature muffler grease + guide pin grease + hub anti-occlusal grease + three thumb rubber sleeve + steel brush + brush + gloves + cleaner + temporary stop sign

Ready to start, the red bracket is bought before the two are all used ~ I am using a Jack and then both sides with the bracket up.
Because it is better to operate in the direction, it is not chosen to operate on a separate side ~ ~

This is the other side.

By the way, clean the place where the wheel hub bites with the brake pads, there is some dust and the previous anti-bite grease.

It’s just the new TRW brake pads. Pay attention to the difference between the inside and the outside when you install it. The top one is the outer brake pad, and the bottom one is the inner brake pad.

By the way, the guide pin, which has been cleaned and used carburetor cleaning agent, is then dried and dried with a dishcloth.

This guide pin is really greasy on it, so forgive my hand, I really don’t want to pick up my phone and take a picture again.

By the way, clean the place where the inside of the hub bites with the brake disc.

This is the cap on the outside of the guide pin. This thing can’t be dropped. The guide pin oil is extremely damaged.

In order to prevent the sub-pump from falling, I found a box to pad here, and then sprayed it directly with carburetor cleaning agent and brushed it with a wire brush at the same time.
Try to avoid brushing the rubber ring of the sub-pump when brushing. If this thing is pierced by a wire brush, it will begin to leak brake oil.

And clean the brakes! Let it dry naturally!

Compare the new and old pictures of the brake pads.

This is the one on the front and left has been changed. I didn’t have time to take a picture during the installation. My hands are too dirty.

This is also cleaning the brake disc and sub-pump, waiting for natural drying.

This is the replacement of the brake pads ~ ~ is still very thick ~ ~ only used about 20, 000 KM!

Installed in place, there is a lot of time to shoot.

This is the idler that I bought last year, and it has been replaced just in time today.
I estimate that it took less than five minutes to replace this lazy wheel.
The main point is to loosen the round iron tub at the front of the new idler wheel before it can be easily installed on the engine.

Second, the 16mm plum blossom wrench glove on the tension wheel screw to pull up the wrench, at this time should be very easy to loosen the entire belt, in fact, just need to let the belt off the idler. Then remove the old idler wheel, install the new idler wheel and manually screw the screws on it, then pull the wrench on the tensioner wheel to loosen its belt and put it on the idler wheel. Then loosen the wrench of the idler wheel, tighten the idler wheel screw, and get it done.
