With the development of technology, modern travel is inseparable from satellite navigation. Currently, there are four major navigation systems in the world, namely China’s Beidou, the United States ‘GPS, Russia’s GLONASS and the European Union’s Galileo. Now the most mainstream are Beidou and GPS.

The Touran L Comfort Edition vehicle is equipped with a navigation system. After a few years, the navigation map version has become relatively old, and it is time to upgrade the map. I recorded the method of upgrading the map this time, and then shared it with motorists in need.

The version of the navigation map in my car is 1120, and currently I know that the latest version is 1220.

Touran L does not support online upgrades. You can only take out the navigation card and upgrade it. The navigation card is attached to the co-driver’s CD player.

SD1 is the vehicle’s navigation card.

This SD card is exclusive to the public and cannot be recognized by ordinary SD cards in vehicles.

Before upgrading, back up the original data in the card. If the upgrade fails, you can restore it. Insert the navigation card into the computer card reader.

Then format the navigation card

Ignore warning points and determine

This problem occurs because the write protect switch of the navigation card is turned on

Just push the white switch to the side

Try again, this time it was formatted successfully

Then copy the prepared new navigation data into the navigation card and you are basically done.

Pop up the SD card and wait to load the car experiment

Because my computer is relatively old, the navigation file is relatively large and 14.4GB. After downloading, extracting, and copying to the navigation card, it will become dark.

Insert the navigation card into the SD1 card slot

When you turn on multimedia, the navigation system will self-check and find it and load the navigation files. We just need to wait patiently.

Check the current version, it has been updated to 1220, haha, it worked.

Try the route selection and navigation functions are normal. Here, this upgrade can be said to be a perfect ending.

Although the Touan L car navigation system is not as good as mobile phone navigation, since it has this function, it can be kept in its best condition and can be used occasionally in emergencies. Which one do car navigation and mobile phone navigation partners like to use?
