The two engine gearboxes are equipped with many Mercedes-Benz models 3.0 and 3.5. Some models of S-Class Mercedes-Benz E-Class Mercedes-Benz and G-Class Mercedes-Benz are equipped with this engine and gearbox. So when it comes to the engine and gearbox maintenance experience of W211, many Mercedes-Benz models can also be used.

Let’s get to the point. The most common problems of M272 engine are the wear of camshaft and timing intake and exhaust gears and the fracture of intake manifold triangle plate. I will add some pictures of the fault code in the future. Another is that the engine computer is prone to problems, but the problems are usually inexplicable and the response is different. Because I don’t buy 4s parts. So the original car parts mentioned below are generally Bosch prices.
Camshafts can be exchanged for owls, about 1000. There are four intake and exhaust gears. A brand new 500-650 made in China. It is not recommended to buy the original factory. Due to the design defect of the M272 head, the camshaft intake and exhaust wheels have become fragile consumables. The original car costs 3000 a wheel. It’s enough to change into a full set twice. It’s all worn parts. It is recommended to buy a brand new domestic one.
The reason why the intake manifold assembly is bad is that the triangular plate is plastic, it is easy to age and break, and the structure inside the manifold is also plastic. But Moubao has a lathe with good metal triangles and a professional overhaul kit. You can try to modify it yourself. The intake manifold of the original car costs more than 3000. About 800 of them dismantled the car. But the dismantling parts are all gambling too deep. It is recommended to buy it from an acquaintance.
I have to say a few more words about the engine computer. My car was powerless when climbing around 70-80. Big foot throttle. There will be a downshift to increase speed. There is no power above 120, and there is no ability to accelerate. The fault code indicates that the air throttle is jammed or frozen. The left oxygen sensor has a problem with the right oxygen sensor. At first I thought there was something wrong with the throttle, so I changed the throttle. The problem remains. Thought there was something wrong with the oxygen sensor and ternary catalysis. The ternary catalysis and oxygen sensors have been replaced. The problem remains. Later, a master said that it was the engine computer problem. Change the engine and computer, the problem will be solved. Students should take it as a warning and don’t waste money and energy like me. I changed four oxygen sensors, 2000. It cost more than 3000 to replace two ternary catalysis. Bought two more throttle valves. It cost 800. Now these parts are still in the warehouse. No matter how to replace these parts, it will not solve the problem. Later, a new engine computer was changed, and the problem was solved completely. The brand-new domestic computer 1800 package programming, dismantling the original car computer 1500 package programming.

About the 722.9 gearbox, I have been struggling for a long time, mainly because the gearbox valve body and the gearbox computer are prone to disease. The failure of the valve body is characterized by a serious setback in the up and down gear, and there is a metal knocking sound in the gearbox during the setback. The price of valve body 4s store is more than 50,000. The gearbox computer fault shows that the instrument panel is red and there is no gear. No response to the oil, turn off the fire and restart and disappear. The more it comes, the more often. The gearbox computer costs more than 30,000. Change the valve body of the car. About 2500. The computer can be repaired. Gearbox fault code y3b81 to y3b82 to y3b83 these three codes can be changed inside the parts. I’ve posted it in my previous posts. I won’t repeat it. The price of changing gearbox computer is about 2500. The gearbox assembly for changing and dismantling the car does not contain 4000 to 5000 of the computer. Depending on the appearance, it is also a gamble. These parts are more expensive than cars for brand new ones. I don’t think it’s necessary. Students with obsessive-compulsive disorder should change buses.
About the original factory sound insulation and shock suppression in the car is definitely rubbish. Identified as No. 5 asphalt, this kind of thing is cheap and effective, but absolutely harmful. Under the car floor there is a thick layer of No. 5 asphalt hot melted on the surface of the steel plate all the way to the trunk. There is also a layer in the integral floor mat. It’s also on the inside of the door. My car is shaken off as a whole, scraped with a shovel knife and washed with tarmac cleaner. Put on the domestic big energy fire proof and sound insulation sticker, and the chassis of the whole car will be spread all the way to the trunk. To sum up, the M272 is a classic engine in the Mercedes-Benz V6 engine. Although there are small flaws, but the performance is not vulgar. Linear, smooth. I seldom burn oil. I run 10000 kilometers without any shortage of oil. Add that if you can’t find anything wrong with the acceleration, the tail gas smell is serious, then maybe the air Flowmeter should be cleaned or replaced, these strict versions have been issued before and do not waste time. The 722.9 gearbox is all right on the whole. Not as durable as Japanese cars. The fault code is camshaft wear and intake manifold copy damage. The last fault code is that the one on the left side of ternary catalysis is broken.

The normal value should be 7, but it is more than 30. There should be something wrong with the air Flowmeter.

Changing the capacitance in the engine computer doesn’t solve the problem. The capacitor leakage burned the computer board.

This fault code is relatively large. Everybody collect and remember. This is the engine. The computer is broken. Don’t think I bought a bunch of parts to try like this.
