S90 Health Care Battery Usage Precautions

The S90 car has two batteries, one is for the engine to start and deactivate, and the other is for supplying power to the entire car. What I am talking about is that the 21 previous T4 and T5 engine models have batteries configured in this way. The large battery is in the engine compartment and the small battery is in the trunk.

People don’t care about batteries when using the car, because it rarely has problems, but with time of use, the battery will gradually decay and power loss occurs. At this time, the battery needs to be replaced. Generally speaking, the battery life is about 5 to 7 years. The quality of maintenance directly affects battery life.

Turn off all lights before turning off the lights first, especially the reading lights. Although this small light saves energy and electricity, it has a great impact on the battery as the time becomes longer and the frequency becomes higher. I usually turn off all the reading lights, and I basically don’t use them. I don’t use the lights that accompany me home.

Second, avoid parking the vehicle for a long time. The battery installed in the vehicle will discharge itself during long-term storage. If conditions permit, the vehicle will often run at high speeds, which will be more beneficial to charging the battery. If the parking time is too long, it is recommended to run at high speed for more than 30 minutes. It will be better to charge the battery.

Third, close the windows before turning off the engine. The switches on the windows and sunroof of the car are powered by batteries, so it is best to close all windows before turning off the engine, rather than closing them after turning off the engine, which will cause great battery damage.

Fourth, pay attention to external power supplies, especially driving recorders. Some of them record 24 hours a day. This will cause great harm to the battery, and the battery will soon lose power and be damaged.

Fifth, it is best to use the vehicle for more than 30 seconds since it starts and stops. Otherwise, it will not save fuel and damage the small battery. The number of discharges of the small battery is a fixed value. If it exceeds the battery, it will be scrapped.

Sixth, frequently check and clean the battery exhaust holes to ensure that the exhaust holes are not blocked. In winter, often check and clean the water in the exhaust holes to prevent the exhaust holes from being blocked by ice water.

The above few suggestions are just personal understanding of batteries and matters needing attention for daily use. Please add and correct the shortcomings.
