Mercedes-Benz E300L (W213) 19-inch tire recall and shock absorber recall

It’s been a long time since I received the registered letter of the tire and suspension recall, but I haven’t come to replace it. I changed the previous 19-inch wheel hub to an 18-inch wheel hub, so I’m not in a hurry to replace it.

Later, when I heard that the supply was tight, the store had the last set of shock absorbers, so I rushed here. I brought 4 old tires, but the new tires were not available in stock. I had to wait for Beijing to send them and come back to pick them up in a few days.

Anyway, the wheel hub has been changed to an 18-inch one. If the price is right, I will drop the new tire and make up for the loss of my previous flat tire, haha. I heard that the sidewalls of the tires have become thicker this time, and Pirelli tires of this size have been improved in the future. I can also keep them myself. After all, the 19-inch steel rim is better than the 18-inch steel rim of my current S320. It looks so much better.

Points to note: Because it takes at least two to three hours for anaerobic adhesive to make a fixed call
, and it will take 24 hours to fully cure. I was originally planning to let it dry and drive it home at noon. After checking the encyclopedia of anaerobic adhesives, I wisely decided to take a taxi home and come back to pick it up at noon tomorrow.

Bring four old tires to the door and take a list of tires from the work order.

My brother checked the date and specifications of the tires. They are both 19 inches, but the specifications of the front and rear wheels are different. One is 245/40R19 and the other is 275/35R19. My car is from October 2016, and the tires are also dated and cannot be too early than the car’s factory date.

The shock absorber is the upper part of this screw. At the same time, the screw and the “rubber ring” have been replaced

The new front suspension is really much thicker than the previous one, and there will be a steel hoop to be added later.

There is also a steel hoop attached, but it feels like it should not be of much use.

Front suspension, new “washer” is coated with anaerobic adhesive. This is not oil but anaerobic adhesive.

The rear wheel suspension was opened, and I asked for expensive washers under the spring, but it felt useless.
