Connect your laptop with Cummins Insite Engine software loaded to the ECM. 2. Run Cummins Insite software. 3. Start a connection to the engine. 4. Once connected, go to the "Faults" tab on the software. 5. On this screen, you will see a list of fault codes that are causing the engine to derate. 6. Click on the "Clear All" button or, if the option is not available select the individual fault and select "Clear". 7. Some fault codes may require you to run the engine for a few minutes or go for a short drive to clear, follow the software prompt. 8. Once the fault codes are cleared, your engine will no longer be in derate mode. NOTE: Remember, clearing the engine derate code does not fix the reason why the engine went into derate mode in the first place. It's important to identify and fix these problems to avoid potential engine damage.
