A diesel engine ignites through a process called compression ignition. As air is drawn into the engine cylinder, it is compressed by the rising piston to a point where the temperature of the air is raised to a very high level. This elevated temperature is sufficient to ignite the diesel fuel that is then injected into the engine cylinder near the end of the piston's compression stroke. The injected fuel ignites upon contact with this hot air and the ensuing combustion pushes the piston back down. In this way, unlike in a gasoline engine, there’s no need for a spark plug to ignite the fuel.

When the key fob battery is low. it can impact the vehicle's ability to recognize signals from the key fob. This may result in issues with immobilization. push-button ignition. or keyless entry. It can also indirectly affect the engine management system by triggering emissions-related problems detected by the on-board diagnostics OBD-II. To ensure your vehicle stays in top shape. it's important to regularly maintain all components. including replacing a weak key fob battery. If the CEL persists. it's best to have a diagnostic scan done for an accurate diagnosis.
