I picked up the car at the end of July 2022. I just returned from my hometown after the New Year and had a mileage of just over 10,000 points. I made an appointment before going to work.

The day before, I booked maintenance at the 4S shop on My BMW. At that time, I was replacing old cars and had free basic maintenance for 5 years and 100,000 kilometers. The engine oil could be selected from 5W30 and 0W20.
I checked it online and said that 0W base oil is better and more expensive, but it has a slightly less high temperature protection. 5W base oil is a little worse, but after all, it has a viscosity of 30 and should have better high temperature protection. I usually drive. I often like to step on floor oil, so I chose 5W30.

I arrived at the store for maintenance half an hour late. When the master finished maintenance, it was almost lunchtime to get another one. The store provided free working meals.

The first guarantee is a simple replacement of the oil and filter. I ordered 5W30 oil, but the master received 0W20 from the warehouse according to the work order. He said that the 22 models correspond to 0W20 and emphasized that 0W20 is better than 5W30. Whatever, he doesn’t have 0W30 anyway. I’m surprised that BMW prefers sports-oriented cars to use such thin oil I asked the master to add only 5.25L and take the remaining 500ML with me. The master didn’t say anything or sign any exemption agreement.

I’ll take away the remaining half of the bottle of oil I added.

After changing the oil, I just reset the maintenance information and wash the car. I originally wanted to upgrade the car version, but it took a few hours and I didn’t do anything else.

The electronic oil gauge in front of the first safeguard shows full compartment, but the original factory does not know what kind of oil it is. The master said that it is 5.75L from the factory. The first safeguard adds 5.25L, and the oil gauge shows full compartment. The spark plug has not been removed, and the engine oil gauge has not been burned. You will know if you can keep observing.

After changing the oil, the ignition sound is slightly louder than before, the engine sound is a bit rougher, and the setbacks are more obvious. I don’t know if it’s an oil problem or a mental problem, so let’s wait and see after driving for a while.
