My car is an 18-model 525Li. I ordered it on July 15, 2018, and picked it up on July 29th. I have traveled 100000 kilometers so far. Now look back on the journey of 100000 kilometers and talk about my feelings about this car.
Overall feeling: although this car is the low configuration of the five series in the G38 era, it has been driving for 100000 kilometers, and it feels very good in all aspects. I always have a feeling that I like driving, so I must give a like for this car.
First, talk about the advantages.
1. The quality of the car is very good, and the driving feeling is very good. I mainly drive, and I seldom have the opportunity to sit in the copilot or in the back. I feel that this car, whether it is driving or riding, feels soundproof and solid chassis texture, in a word, both driving and riding are very good.
2. The power is passable. I never drive a fast car. I feel that the horsepower of 184p is enough for me. I have never said that I feel underpowered. When my family is in the car, it is easy to drive to 140 on the highway. From buying a car to now, I have never felt that its power is insufficient. I have also driven 330, 530, E300, 740 and so on, of course, there is no need to describe the motivation. But my 525 is not so bad.
3. Super fuel saving. At present, the average speed is 45.9 and the average consumption is 7.1. I still have more highways and suburbs, but I am quite satisfied with this fuel consumption, which is up to the standard of Japanese cars. If anyone refuses to accept it, you can show me one with an average speed of more than 80,000 kilometers, an average speed of less than 45 and an average consumption of less than 7.1, and I will take it, which shows that the fuel-saving technology of driving is better than mine.
4. Solid chassis and good sense of direction. This car is the kind that people like to drive more and more. Although the body is nearly 5.1 meters, it is very tight and feels good to turn over the ridge, and there is no vacancy in the steering wheel.
5. Sound insulation is also good. Although my horn is 6 stereos, I added two A-pillar Chinese version of Baohua luminous loudspeaker, the overall sound quality is also OK, mainly due to its excellent sound insulation effect. I have always wanted to install and modify a stereo, but I have not been able to make it.
6. The failure rate is low. It is said that the German car has many problems after 80,000 kilometers, but my car’s performance is satisfactory. This generation of five series, is G38 listed after the modification, the engine is not TU, can not brush ECU also does not leak, buy a car so far only 4S shop maintenance when checking the water pump leakage, changed a water pump; later in a small 4S store also checked the water tank leakage, I checked in a large 4S store outside that there is no leakage, and then did not change, now over the insurance, the water tank does not have any problems. Apart from that, there has not been any failure.
In short, in my mind, this car is enough to score more than 80 points.
Second, let’s talk about the shortcomings.
No one is perfect, there is no car, let me talk about its shortcomings:
1. The stereo does low some. The original car has six loudspeakers, which is not as simple as my old X1. It does not go well with the five-series car.
2. The back of the car seat can be typed with the name of a city-Wuhan (cover sweat). The shirt on the back of the car is definitely wet in summer. Finally, I bought an electrically ventilated seat cushion on Xixi, which worked well.
3. Leakage of water pump tank is a common problem of this generation. 4S shop maintenance technician said, in my car also fulfilled, changed the water pump.
4. Automatic start and stop is very creepy. Finally, I painted to hide.
5. The emissions of country 5 have lagged behind. When I bought a car, it was the last batch of the country five, and it was not clear at that time, but it was really cheap. My car was a 7. 8% discount without any QJ. If you don’t count the comfort suit of 10,000 yuan, the price on arrival must be less than 40. It’s probably the cheapest five-series in history.
Third, let’s talk about the first blood, second blood and so on.
There have been four minor accidents so far.
The first time, when I was backing up in the garage 4000 kilometers ago, the rear bumper was hit by a small crater.
The second time, in the summer of 2019, when I learned that a friend had died of illness, he was in an extremely bad mood and was in a trance. When he finally got out of the garage, the left back door rubbed against the post and finally went to the 4S store to repair it. Then there was another time when I got out of the garage or rubbed against the right back door.
The third time was a high-speed rear-end collision. But at that time, there was a traffic jam, and the speed was less than 5 kilometers. As soon as I was distracted, the car in front of me stopped, so I installed it and pushed the camera position below, but the camera system was fine, so I took the insurance and repaired it.
IV. Main maintenance conditions
I am the whole process is 4S store maintenance, buy a car when given a lifetime A guarantee, each time in addition to the free engine filter, other maintenance is also done in the store. The main maintenance is in March this year, when my car is 94000 kilometers, I changed the gearbox oil and oil pan, which is the original oil and material, about 5000 yuan. Basically, the spark plug is changed at least 30,000 km, but I don’t think it is necessary to change it for 20,000 km.
