In fact, I didn’t intend to book the car so early. If I hadn’t been surprised by the news that the frosted Dark Silver would stop production, I would have driven 540i by the end of the year, but the situation has changed and the car replacement plan has been advanced.

My last car was the 2014 528Li, and I will share some of the obvious differences between the 528Li and the 540i later.

2022.3.15 first maintenance

From the beginning of picking up the car, the system has been reminding me to replace the battery.

I checked that it should be the code failure caused by excessive power consumption of the battery, of course, it is also possible that the battery is really broken and needs to be replaced.

4S shop started, after all, regular customers, free to help me solve the battery problem, it is indeed a code error, they took an instrument to re-register the battery, the problem is eliminated.

Second maintenance

After solving the problem of the battery, I drove the car to run on the highway. After all, it was only the next day that I picked up the car, and I didn’t try it on the highway yet.

While I was running comfortably, I suddenly heard a bang coming from the back of the right, and the screen showed as follows:

This is only a total of more than 60 kilometers, a blood came.

Let’s go straight to the 4S store.

I slowed down and drove back to the 4S store, which had only been gone for more than an hour.

As soon as I got out of the car, I found that the right rear tire was flat.

In fact, I was a little surprised at that time. I thought it was because the quality of the new car was too poor. How long did it take to have a flat tire?

I lifted the car, checked it and found that it was pierced by a sharp object on the highway with a hole the size of a chopstick.

At least it’s not a quality problem, it’s just bad luck, and I have confidence in the car again.

If I hadn’t heard that slight bang and the text on the screen, I wouldn’t have felt a flat tire at all (between 110 and 120 at that time). It was good for me to have a flat tire, which made me feel good about the flat tire. I had a flat tire on the guardrail for half a month. I didn’t realize that I had a flat tire until I stopped.

It is said that the key is a family photo, but it is not yet, because the LCD key I ordered has not arrived yet (it will take three or four months).

With regard to the LCD key, although everyone says that it is not very useful and it is not worth spending three thousand to match one, it is always a pity if it is always wanted and later reduced, so anyway, spend some money to order one back, so my 540i will be finished.

Huawei phones can only have one digital key.

Simulated sound wave

540i to tell you the truth, except that the fire was a little louder than my previous 528Li, the sound was actually too quiet during the driving.

When I looked through the APP of My BMW and found that there was something like sound waves, I bought it as soon as possible.

But unfortunately, even if it is switched to S mode, the sound is still not loud, at least not as much as I imagined.

About the back row space

Many people say that the space at the back of the axis is too small for household use, so we have to consider everyone’s height.

Like my wife and I, we are only as tall as the average height in the south, and we don’t like to set the seats too far back. We just like to adjust ourselves to a comfortable state.

I measured it with a ruler, and my knee was still 27 centimeters from the front seat.

Erlang can bend his legs at any time if he wants to.

It’s about seven or eight centimeters away from the front seat with your legs crossed.

Therefore, do not be affected by the online point of view, the axis back row space is not enough to affect, must be combined with the height of the family to consider.

The seats in the front row are not adjusted directly to the front, but are adjusted according to the riding habits of my wife and me, and can be adjusted forward by about ten centimeters. )

Frosted dark silver

The color of frosted dark silver stopped production last month, and now there are only existing cars or cars on the way, which is really one less than one sold.

If you especially like this color, you should hurry up, otherwise you can only buy second-hand ones later.

When I first planned to change the 540i at the end of last year, I didn’t know which color I wanted, and I liked to use exclusion to choose what I wanted to buy.

For example, the previous car is white, the second car must not be white, black is too easy to dirty, do not consider, Oxford green is green after all, or forget it ……

And I especially want frosted car paint, among many frosted car paints, it is so difficult to order frosted dark silver, which may have something to do with the following three pictures.

From a forum, he took it at the auto show. I was fascinated by this color at a glance.

I accidentally saw it on a bar. It was amazing.

It was when I saw these three pictures on the Internet, plus more pictures, that I strengthened my determination to order frosted dark silver. Fortunately, I finally picked up the car smoothly.

A few surprises

In fact, before I bought the car, I only did a lot of research on the car paint. I didn’t take a closer look at the other configuration parameters, so when I picked up the car, I found that there were some functions that I thought I didn’t have, but I thought it was not so easy to use, but it was actually too easy to use. it’s all a surprise.

First: 360 panoramic image

Before I picked up the car, I didn’t know that the 540i had a 360-degree panoramic image, and I was still considering whether to install a panoramic image myself after picking up the car, but when I backed up for the first time, the situation around the car was clear, and it was so practical to back up the narrow alley, which surprised me. (the most important thing is that there is a person at home who has only been licensed for more than two months, which is full of practicality. )

Second: HUD display

When I saw the reduction of HUD in the forum before, I thought the 540i was gone. Unexpectedly, as soon as I was driving, there was this look-up display. The key is that the HUD of BMW shows very important and useful information, and it is very clear that the function of HUD can not be separated from it. It greatly improves driving safety and does not always have to look down at the speedometer or the display screen.

The third: comfortable entry

In the past, when buying 528Li, comfortable entry was optional with extra money. I didn’t expect 540i to have it directly. I was not used to it at first. I love this function so much that I don’t have to take out my car keys and get out of the car without pressing the key to lock the car (lock the car window automatically to receive the rearview mirror).

The fourth: remote temperature control

There is a 3000 yuan can be equipped with remote startup, thinking that this naked car does not have this function, did not expect that the APP can directly buy a more powerful remote temperature control, absolutely surprised. How many times the buttocks were badly burned, and now I can finally turn on the air conditioner in advance and lower the temperature in the car.

Fifth: put down in proportion in the back row.

I am aware of this function, but I didn’t know it was so easy to use. In the past, there were always a lot of things in the back row, but now they can all be put in the trunk. When needed, put down the middle seat for a second and reach out. How many times on the road, the things to be used are in the trunk, and it is not convenient to park …… Of course, this function is convenient for families to travel, whether it is a single dog or not. )

The difference from 528Li

I carried the car for more than ten days and drove more than 500km to share, in order to more truly share the similarities and differences between 540i and 528Li.

1. The speed up is faster, so we won’t say much about what we all know.

two。 No sense of trailing, used to drive 528Li, high-speed corner or lane change, sometimes feel the front of the car, the rear is forced to come over, the appearance of shaking at any time, while the 540i does not have this feeling, turning or changing lane is very smooth.

3. Compared with the 528Li, the steering wheel became lighter, and when I took the car to refuel, I felt that the 540i was too light and dexterous to drive, and it could only be said that the previous 528Li steering wheel was too heavy.

4. You may not believe that the 540i push back feeling is not as strong as the 528Li, is the most intense sports mode, before and after the change, I have tried these two cars on a specific road many times, anyway, the 540i really has no push back, I think it should be the reason for smoother acceleration. For example, the 540i floor oil increases the speed by 2 km / h every 0.1 second, while some cars with less power increase by 1 km / h every 0.1 second. However, in some 0.1 seconds (estimated to be when changing gears), the speed increase is 3 kilometers per hour, resulting in a stronger push back feeling, which is why many 1.5T cars have a strong push back feeling, acceleration is uneven, sometimes fast and sometimes slow (just a personal point of view).

5.540i ‘s sense of movement is really not strong, sound insulation is much better than 528Li, 528Li used to communicate with people in the car, now 540i does not roll down the window, it is difficult to hear what the people inside say. It is obvious on the highway that when the 528Li is driving at 130mph, it is clear that the sound is nearly twice as loud as it is at 120mph, but driving from 540i to 130i or higher does not add much sound to 120mph.

6.Nappa craft leather is too fragile, now there are a lot of wrinkles, although the mocha color is very high-end, but the cognac color is actually very good. Before that, 528Li’s Dakota leather, which has been driving for more than six years, is still like a new car, but this kind of leather looks rough and is not as fine as Nappa.

7. On rainy days, the 540i floor oil will really slip, that is, the throttle will run out, but the actual acceleration is like stepping on one-third of the throttle and the direction will be slightly off. I have not felt the rear wheel slip so clearly after driving 528Li for so many years.

8. If the 528Li driver’s sense of driving is 80, then the 540i can give 95. As for why it is not a full mark, there are mainly two deduction points: not strong sense of movement and too little noise.

Some purchase suggestions

If you want to order a 540i but don’t want to wait too long, don’t go to a too big 4S store. On the contrary, you should go to a small 4S store. The smaller the 4S store, the more likely it is to have existing cars, and the faster it is to pick up the car. The principle is very simple. There is not much difference in the quota of each 4S store. For example, a large 4S store has 5 people ordering 540i a month, and the quota is only 3 units. It will gradually become a year, while a small 4S store can have two people ordering a month, but the quota is one or two units. The result must be faster picking up the car. Anyway, when I booked a car, I visited all 4S stores in Guangzhou and had an in-depth understanding of the quota and car booking situation.

I suggest that if you buy a car, you should set aside about 10,000 yuan to add other things later. Anyway, the cushions given by my car dealer are too poor. Two places were out of line at the beginning. When changing the tires that day, I directly removed them and threw them away, and replaced them with another cushion purchased by the 4S shop. The car recorder delivered was even more garbage. It was still stuck to the glass and used the safety box to get electricity. I didn’t even ask them to install it. I bought another front and rear dual camera hidden model online to install it (the 540i rear camera wiring is very simple and there is enough space for wiring. I suggest you try to build a dual camera driving recorder). As for the car film I gave you, the color was too dark and it felt like a very low-end product. I found a new store and bought a full-car VK70. It cost an additional 300 yuan to remove the original car film. If you want to put on another film yourself, don’t let them put on the film you give. The quality is too poor and you have to pay extra when you remove it.
