The final chapter of my BMW becoming difficult to drive, a personal test comparison of No. 98 gasoline and No. 95 gasoline

I wrote two posts about how to optimize the car after it became difficult to drive. The second post said that I would conduct a personal test on 98 gasoline and 95 gasoline. It was expected to be completed in two or three months, but it only took more than a month to speed up.

As mentioned in the previous post, there are three main factors that affect the sense of control of the same car:

First, the weight of the car

Second, tire pressure

Third, oil products

The first car weight is easy for everyone to understand, otherwise the racing car will not go to the extreme weight loss, what many people do not understand is whether the car weight of dozens of jin has an impact on car handling. This really looks at people, everyone’s feelings are different, anyway, I add 200 yuan of gasoline to my own empty tank, which weighs about 30 to 40 jin. I can immediately feel that the car is getting heavier and the control becomes a little heavier.

The second tire pressure affects the contact area between the tire and the ground, that is, the higher the tire pressure, the less the friction, and the lighter the steering wheel. I personally like the lighter steering wheel, and the higher tire pressure is more comfortable for me.

The third oil also has an impact on the control, after all, the more suitable for the car’s oil, the stronger the power, the less noise, and the more comfortable to drive.

In fact, I not only conducted three rounds of tests, but five rounds of tests, that is, add 200 yuan 95, use it, change 200 yuan 98, use it, and then change it back to 95. In this way, in order to avoid single-brand errors, I used Sinopec in the first three rounds and PetroChina and PetroChina BP in the last two rounds. The biggest feeling after the test is:

Whether to use 98 or 95 has little effect on the control.

Even when I specially added No. 92 gasoline in the middle, I didn’t feel any obvious change in the control of the car. If so, it could only be solved by stepping on the throttle a little deeper.

Therefore, if the car is easy to drive, it is mainly to control the car weight and tire pressure, which has little to do with 959998.

But also, when I was testing, I also noticed that 98 is more resistant to fire than 95, for example, if you add 200 yuan 95 (suppose 20 liters), you can travel 300 kilometers, plus 200 yuan 98 (18 liters), that is, you can drive 300 kilometers, that is, the fuel consumption per kilometer is different, but the fuel cost per kilometer is about the same.

Whether or not to add 98, it is not recommended to use money to measure, but it is recommended to refer to their own engine demand, the engine with low compression ratio plus 98, the power will become worse, the appropriate is good.

In fact, plus 98 can run more mileage, compared with its extra price, it is definitely cheaper to use 95. For example, plus 98 can run 5% more than plus 95, but 98 is 10% more expensive than 95. In this comparison, plus 98 is not cost-effective.

My own multi-round test, plus 98 brings the improvement (power, fuel consumption, control, etc.) can not keep up with the price increase, that is, the non-high compression engine, there is no need to add 98.

One day, I deliberately used fuel-saving way to drive, 115 kilometers, three-quarters of the highway, fuel consumption is only 5.8, it seems that six cylinders are not very fuel-consuming.

Of course, I usually speed up and slam on the brakes when driving, and the average fuel consumption in the urban area is about 15.

I specially use 98 and 95 to test 100 to 140 floor oil on the highway. When I use 98, my head will hit the headrest every time (I usually drive a few centimeters away from the headrest and rarely lean directly against it). Less likely to hit the headrest (all in sports mode + S gear).

The traffic light floor oil starts, the gap is not big, the head is motionless.

This BMW 540iJing 100 accelerates to 150 push back feeling is much stronger than 0 to 50, or 0 to 50 has no push back feeling at all, and the initial acceleration is smooth.

When I went out one day, I saw 840i on the road, it was amazing at first, and then I took a few more glances at the back, and that’s it. The car body is mainly white. It would be much better to change other colors casually.

Compared with 95, 98 has little effect on the sense of control, but when adding 98, the engine sound is obviously less noisy and quieter, but many gas stations do not necessarily have 98, so it is easy to use 95 directly.

This is the end of the test for the gasoline label, mainly because I changed the exhaust later. I couldn’t stand the resonance when I added 98, and it would be much better to change it back to 95.

If your car has resonance, you can try to change the gasoline brand or change the brand of gasoline to test, because I have tested a variety of gasoline, each gasoline engine resonance speed is different, the resonance sound is also different, you can refer to my next post about changing exhaust emissions, after updating the next article, my recent update plan will be over, and I don’t know what year it will be in the next article.
