This is a series of posts, the main purpose is to record my BMW car experience, publish some of my own experience.

Case 1: normal opening

The steps to normally activate cloud connected or interconnected driving are very simple, and the sales consultant will teach you patiently.
Download the cloud connected app on the phone after buying the car, then click more, select the connected driving service, apply for registration, and then fill in the vehicle information, personal information, upload ID photos and handheld ID card photos as required. After the end, there will be a 6-digit confirmation code. Give this code to your sales, it will be reported to the retail, and your personal information will be reviewed by the app backstage. If there is no problem, the real name authentication will be passed, and the next step is to wait.
PS: report the retail work, under normal circumstances, 4S will have a special person in charge, not sales to upload, if impatient, you can urge that special person, will be faster. I have learned that some 4s will accumulate a group of retail customers who need to report for a week, half a month or even the end of the month in order to avoid complicated workflow.
When 4S retail is reported, it will be activated by displaying connected driving in app in a few days.
At this point, you can click on the Internet to drive in the car, press option, find the updated bmw service, wait for the data to synchronize, and then your phone will appear below instead of covered with a piece of cloth. At the same time, the car’s carplay and weather and other connected driving-related information can also be used normally.

This is what happens when the connected driving function is enabled.

Remember to select vehicle location and remote 3D in privacy protection to query the vehicle status in real time.

Case 2: real name authentication failed.

That’s what happened to me. For others, such as buying an officially certified used BMW, the owner of a used BMW is also applicable.
Because I bought a 4s test drive, the vehicle has been connected to drive during its service. So I can use carplay and weather functions normally in the car, but the cloud-connected App cannot be used, because the vehicle is bound to the mobile phone information of the previous owner or 4s staff.

That’s what it looks like.

After I have submitted the complete information, I will prompt that the identity authentication has been bound to other users.

At this time, my sales told me that they had already applied for retail and could use it after the retail approval. The normal situation is about half a month. Well, I will wait slowly, but it has been a month (including the Chinese New year holiday), but there is still no news. 4s found that the retail application and approval procedures have been completed, or told me to wait patiently.
At this time, I was a little restless, vaguely feeling that the real name authentication was not quite right, so I called BMW 400 to explain the situation, and the customer service told me that it was now stuck in the first step, that is, the real name authentication did not pass. This requires me to contact the customer service of Unicom’s real name authentication by myself to unbind and re-bind my personal information, otherwise the interconnection in the cloud cannot be used.

Then call this number 4006652200.

After explaining the situation to the customer service, she will ask you for your email address and send you an email asking you to upload personal information to prove that the car is yours.
It should be noted here that in addition to the above materials you need to upload, it is best to upload the driver’s license, the car purchase invoice and the picture of the frame number on the glass, because I encountered customer service and e-mailed me back to me to ask for these things.

I may have better luck. I solved it for me on the same day and received a text message.
After unbinding, you need to re-submit personal information, ID card photos and other materials in app and wait for the real name verification to be passed.

Soon app will show that the real name authentication has been passed.

At this time, I found that the carplay and weather functions on the car did not work. I think it might have something to do with my real name certification.
Because the connected driving that was activated by binding other people’s phones has become invalid, I need to pass my own information authentication before I can use it again.
At this time, I called the 400 customer service hotline to explain the situation to her. He said that it was because the real name authentication had been passed, but the service was not activated so that the car interconnected driving could not be used. And recorded my information, mobile phone version, fingerprint unlocking method, etc., and then told me that the bmw interconnected driving staff would contact me in a few days and asked me to pay attention to answering the phone call.
PS: please note here that this phone number had better be stored in the mobile phone address book. For some unknown reason, sometimes this phone will be blocked by the mobile phone. Mine is, twice, this call will hang up as soon as it rings, and it can’t be picked up all the time. Moreover, this call is only outbound, and the call will not get through. If you want to contact the bmw interconnected driving staff, you can only call 400customer service again. And then wait for the other person to call in.
Another point is that if it is an ios system, please make sure that your operating system is 12 or above, customer service said so, but below 12 I have not tested whether it can be used.

After waiting for several days, the service was finally activated. At this time, you can update the in-car bmw service for synchronization. The official reply from the 010 call was that the car remained stalled for 8 hours after the vehicle service, and everything was normal after 8 hours.
But I synchronize after 9: 00 p. M., and I can use it immediately after synchronization.

There was also a small oolong in the middle, because I couldn’t call 010 directly, so I called 400 to ask what I wanted to say to me. The customer service said that the 010 contact was not you, and he recorded that you needed to contact the real-name certified customer service of Unicom again, unbind and bind again.
I was a little confused at that time, repeatedly confirmed with the customer service that you are not kidding. Finally, the service has been activated and cannot be used, and I have to unbind and re-bind it. Customer service said yes, this is how the interconnected driving staff left log, I said do not believe, call me again in the afternoon to try, he said you do not have to try, it is true.
I thought to myself, well, I have to listen to him. So I called the customer service of Unicom Zhi.com, left my mailbox, received e-mail, sent unbinding materials, and so on. Maybe Zhao.com was busy this time, so I didn’t deal with it as quickly as I did last time.
In the afternoon, I received a call from 010. The little brother over there told me that your connected driving had been activated and could be used normally from now on. I said no, I haven’t successfully untied the binding yet, and I could hear that the other party’s brother was a little confused, so I described to him what the 400 customer service customer service told me in the morning. He said lightly, maybe it was 400. You said wrong. You don’t need to untied the binding. Now that it is activated, why should you untied the binding…
Okay, immediately contact Unicom Intelligent Network customer service and tell her never to untie me, never, never…

Then the customer service did not untie me as required, and replied to the email.

At this point, my connected driving is open normally. I tested a few of the functions, and they were quite fun.
For example, displaying the oil level and the remaining kilometers, I won’t say much about this. You can see it when you drive yourself, and when others lend your car back, you can know how much you drove. (Of course, I sincerely suggest that I not borrow my car and wife. It will be difficult to get something done if something goes wrong)
The horn and headlight functions are quite interesting. You may not be able to find a car in the basement of the mall, so it is more useful when looking for a car. The horn only rings once here.

Immediate ventilation is useful when parking outdoors in the scorching sun, which I haven’t tried yet.

Regular ventilation is good for office workers who do not have hidden parking spaces to ventilate before going home. In the future, I will write a post specifically about the benefits of ventilation

The 3D view is fun, I saw it operating outside the car. Open your ears, take pictures, and then close them again. It’s very technological.
You can observe where the car is parked. Although the graphics are distorted, it is acceptable and you can look around 360 degrees. Very good.

I don’t know if you have noticed, but on the 5 Series bmw, whether it’s a car or a cloud connected app, the model animations inside are all luxurious versions and will not match based on whether you have an m-suite.

Previously, some motorists asked why bmw didn’t use binocular cameras (driver assistance or enhanced driver assistance) and 360 Ring Camera as driving recorders.
My personal understanding is that the hardware quality of the 360 Ring Shadow is too low, the resolution and pixels are difficult to reach the level of a driving recorder, and it is also a great challenge to its life when it is often turned on. The binocular camera, one is used to identify road markings and the other is used to identify road. With acc, it can automatically control the speed according to the speed limit.
At present, there are various brands of driving recorders on the market, and there are many solutions. For example, Lianyong is one of the solutions used by many manufacturers. The hardware also has Sony Night Scene chips, 6-glass lenses, etc., which involve many points.
I think it’s better for the on-board driver assistance system to do its job well. If there are too many functions, the failure rate will increase
