Q
who makes saab vehicles
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
Saab vehicles were originally manufactured by the Swedish company Saab Automobile AB, known for their history in aerospace and defense. Founded in 1945, it merged with Scania-Vabis in 1969, focusing on cars, trucks, and buses. General Motors (GM) bought a 50% interest in Saab Automobile in 1990, gaining full ownership in 2000. However, after struggling financially, Saab was sold to the Dutch automobile manufacturer Spyker Cars N.V. in 2010. Saab's various financial troubles led to bankruptcy in 2011. Subsequently, the National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) acquired the main assets of Saab but lost the right to use the Saab name in 2014. Today, Saab-branded vehicles are no longer in production, and the marque is a legacy of innovative design and engineering.
