Q
what is a pvc heartbeat
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
A PVC, or Premature Ventricular Contraction, is a type of arrhythmia where an extra heartbeat originates from one of the ventricles of the heart. These heartbeats are characterized by early or irregular beats that can feel like fluttering or a skipped beat. They are common and can occur in people with or without heart disease. Stress, caffeine, alcohol, and certain medications can trigger PVCs. While PVCs are usually benign, frequent PVCs or those occurring as part of a pattern may require medical evaluation. Treatment may not be necessary unless they are symptomatic or indicative of an underlying condition, in which case lifestyle changes, medication, or in rare cases, procedures like ablation may be recommended.
