Insert molding refers to a molding method in which pre-prepared inserts of different materials are installed into the mold and then resin is injected. The molten material joins and solidifies with the insert to form an integrated product. Substrate injection molding refers to a method in which injection molded parts are embedded in part of the metal plate surface. Its characteristics are as follows
1. The easy formability and bendability of resin and the rigidity, strength and heat resistance of metal can be combined to make complex and exquisite metal-plastic integrated products.
2. In particular, the combination of the insulation properties of resin and the conductivity of metal enables molded products to meet the basic functions of electrical products.
3. The pre-molding combination of multiple inserts makes the post-engineering of product unit combination more rational.
4. Insert products are not limited to metal, but also include cloth, paper, wires, plastics, glass, wood, wire coils, electrical parts, etc.
5. For rigid molded products and bending elastic molded products on rubber sealing pads, after the integrated product is made by injection molding on the base, the complicated work of arranging the sealing rings can be omitted, making the automated combination of subsequent processes easier.
6. Because it is the joining of molten material and metal inserts, compared with the press-in molding method, the metal insert gap can be designed to be narrower, and the molding of composite products is more reliable.
7. By selecting the appropriate resin and molding conditions, even products that are prone to deformation and damage (such as glass, coils, electrical parts, etc.) can be sealed and fixed with resin.
8. By choosing the appropriate mold structure, the insert can be completely encapsulated in the resin.
9. By combining a vertical injection molding machine with a robot, insert product alignment device, etc., most insert molding projects can be automated.
10. After insert molding, products with hollow grooves can also be made after core hole removal.
