However, when it comes to dealing with gasoline, HDPE is particularly noteworthy. This swelling is more about the plastic absorbing some of the gasoline and expanding rather than dissolving in the way sugar dissolves in water. Therefore, HDPE containers are considered safe for short-term gasoline storage, but the material's integrity could be compromised over an extended period, especially if exposed to high concentrations of ethanol-blended gasoline, which may increase the material's permeability.
Polyester and polypropylene are both synthetic fibers, but they have distinct differences.
