Q
hdpe physical properties
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is known for its high strength-to-density ratio, making it a robust, rigid plastic. It exhibits excellent resistance to chemicals, corrosion, and impacts, which is why it's widely used for containers, pipes, and geomembranes. HDPE has a melting point around 130°C and can operate continuously at 90°C. It also has a low coefficient of friction, is resistant to water absorption, and showcases good electrical insulation properties. Despite its strength, HDPE remains lightweight and is easily recyclable, promoting its use in sustainable packaging solutions and construction materials. Its high tensile strength and durability qualify it for heavy-duty applications.
