Q
why tyres are black
I'm a seasoned industrial engineer with a keen interest in machine learning. Here to share insights on latest industry trends.
Tyres are black because of a chemical compound called "carbon black" that is added during the production process. Carbon black significantly increases the strength and durability of the tyres, it also provides a high resistance to damage, discolouration, and protect the tyres from harmful UV light and ozone which can degrade the rubber. It also improves road handling and tread wear.
