Governors are crucial in applications where engine speed stabilisation is necessary, like generators or vehicles, improving efficiency and longevity. They can be mechanical, involving springs and flyweights, or electronic, using sensors and actuators for precise control. Modern governors, integrated with a vehicle's or machinery's electronic control unit (ECU), offer enhanced performance through real-time adjustments.
