Indian tyre makers rue shortfall of natural rubber
ET bureau Indian tire makers say there is still a “severe” shortage of natural rubber in the domestic market. As the domestic season continues, the industry has no choice but to import natural rubber, leading to higher costs, they said. According to data released by the Rubber Board, natural rubber production for the six months to September (NR) rose 5 percent year-on-year to 321,000 tons, while consumption rose 2 percent to 527,880 tons. The deficit was 39.2%, slightly lower than the same period last year (41.1%). Satish Sharma, Chairman, Automotive Tire Manufacturers Association (ATMA) “The grim situation in the natural resources industry continues. Domestic production remains well below domestic demand.” The Rubber Board had previously forecast natural rubber production at 800,000 tons in 2017-2018, up 16% from last year. However, ATMA said it is highly unlikely that production should increase by 24% in the second half of the year compared to th...

Q
tyres screeching
EudoraWhyet
AbrahamGregory
Release Time:
July 15, 2024, 11:59 AM
The sound of tyres screeching is a familiar one, often associated with vehicles abruptly stopping or speeding. This high-pitched noise is produced when a tyre’s rubber suddenly grips the road surface while being forced to stop or change direction too rapidly, causing a vibration or slip against the pavement. It’s a byproduct of the friction necessary to slow down or steer the vehicle quickly. While sometimes necessary for emergency maneuvers, frequent tyre screeching could indicate aggressive driving habits, which not only increase the wear on tyres but also raise the risk of accidents. It serves as a useful alert for pedestrians and other drivers, although it is an indication that the limits of the car’s handling or the driver’s control are being tested. To minimize such occurrences, it’s advisable to practice smooth, anticipatory driving techniques, and ensure your vehicle’s tyres are in good condition, properly inflated, and suited to the driving ...

Q
is nitrogen good for tyres
LorraineFelix

Release Time:
March 21, 2024, 10:01 PM
Nitrogen has several advantages for tires. Firstly. its larger molecules are less prone to leakage compared to oxygen. resulting in more stable tire pressure over time. This stability not only helps with fuel efficiency but also extends the life of the tires. Additionally. nitrogen’s lower reactivity eliminates the risk of oxidation and rust inside the tire. ensuring a longer overall lifespan. Moreover. maintaining proper tire pressure is crucial for optimal fuel efficiency. and nitrogen-filled tires hold air longer than regular pneumatic ones. Furthermore. oxygen and moisture can cause wheel corrosion. but using nitrogen can reduce this chemical reaction. While there may be some benefits to using pure nitrogen to fill tires. there is minimal improvement compared to regular air which already contains 78% nitrogen. Whether you choose regular air or pure nitrogen. it is essential to keep your vehicle’s tire pressure at the recommended level for efficient and safe driving.

PaddyRoland
Release Time:
March 21, 2024, 10:21 PM
Retreading. also known as tire retreading. is the process of giving a worn tire a new tread. It’s worth noting that special mechanisms and expertise are required for this process. The process itself involves several steps: first. the old tire is thoroughly inspected and any defective or damaged tires are discarded. Next. high-speed buffing is used to remove the remaining old tire surface and side rubber in order to create a new shape. This helps ensure proper adhesion of the new tread patch. Any holes. cuts. or other visible damage are then repaired using appropriate materials that meet safety standards for retreading. The tire is then covered with adhesive and uncured tread and sidewall rubber. which can be either pre-cured or cured during the pattern formation process. Heat and pressure are applied during the curing stage to adhere the new rubber to the tire. Once cooled. the tire undergoes a final inspection for any defects introduced during fitting before being subjected to q...
