Mumbai: German automotive components manufacturer Continental has appointed Alexander Klotz as the new head of its Technology Center India (TCI).

Founded in 2009 2000 as an in-house development center with a focus on software development, Continental TCI has evolved to support the end-to-end product development value chain from requirements engineering to vehicle manufacturing and delivery. Testing is performed in specific areas such as software, electronics and mechanics.

Adding value by understanding emerging markets and customers, TCI is becoming a center of competence for customized products for the two-wheeler market and BRIC countries.

Today, the R&D center is one of Continental’s three global systems and technology (ST) centers providing high-quality, cost-effective services for engineered solutions for Continental’s three major automotive components: chassis and safety, interior and powertrain.

One of the highlights of Klotz’s career was the successful establishment of Continental in 2013, the first Silicon Valley plant year.

In this role, he was instrumental in exploring new automotive businesses by connecting traditional automotive businesses with consumer electronics companies and start-ups. technologies and business models. The Silicon Valley center that Klotz founded is now part of Continental’s San Jose Innovation Center.
