Apollo Tyres expects to meet $5-billion revenue target by 2025-26
Considering the current extremely low sales in this category, the company plans to develop motorcycle electric tires next.
Apolloo is headquartered in Gurgaon Tires expects to increase sales to $5,010 million by fiscal 2026, and its domestic and international sales remain strong despite fears of an inflation-induced recession.
To capitalize on the growth opportunity, the company plans to launch Apolloolo and Vrestein branded tires for electric vehicles.
Satish Sharma, president, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Apollo Tyres, told The Economic Times that electric vehicles (EVs) are expected to accelerate in the coming years. As a result, the company is working hard to meet the demand from both passenger car and two-wheeler segments.
Sharma said, “It is widely believed that the electric two-wheeler segment will grow the fastest, while scooters in the bus segment will grow the fastest, followed by motorcycles.”
By the end of this century, the policy framework established by the central and state governments will promote all types of electrification. In fact, by 2030, by 2030 More than a third of two-wheeler sales could be electric.
Sharma said, “There is every reason to believe that electric vehicles will rapidly gain popularity and electric vehicle sales will continue to grow accordingly.”
The company has launched Amperion and Wav for electric passenger cars and two-wheelers The brands are designed to reduce noise and extend battery life in electric vehicles.
Sharma said the company will expand its product lineup in India and cater to the demand for electric vehicles in the European market with the Vredestein brand.
“Vredestein It will be launched in Europe first and if necessary, we will bring it to India as the real activity in the premium market will come from premium players,” he said.
German luxury carmakers like Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volvo are looking at launching more electric cars in India in the future.
The Apollo Amperion will fulfill the requirements of Indian hatchbacks, compact SUVs and the automotive market’s demand for electric vehicles such as the Tata Nexon, MG ZSE, Hyundai Kona, and other upcoming electric vehicles. The Apollo WAV aims to accommodate the country’s existing high-powered electric scooters such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather 450.
Considering the extremes, the company plans to develop motorcycle electric tires next. Currently, there are very few of these.
Sharma added that Apollo Tyres has been in discussions with a number of Indian OEMs to supply tires for electric vehicles and will work to secure a “leading share” in the electric, solar and two-wheeler segments in India.
