Four years, 65,000 kilometers to replace front brake pads
Da Bai has been 65,000 kilometers away. Every time he goes to inspect the car, the driver will say that the front brake pads will be replaced next time for maintenance! Brake pads can be said to be the most important component of the brake system, and the quality of brake pads is related to driving safety. So I decided to change it after thinking about it. After all, every item has its own service life! Let’s talk about how to replace the brake pads.
Brake pad replacement steps:
First open the engine compartment and check whether the brake fluid level is in a normal position to avoid overflowing during the process of replacing brake pads.
Because the workstation is full of cars, I can only use jacks. First, lift the roof. This time, to change the front brake pads, just lift the front!
Removing the brake pads is so easy. Just remove a bolt, then turn the sub-cylinder cover up to see the brake pads. Use a screwdriver to pry the brake pads and push the sub-cylinder piston back, and the brake pads can be taken out!
These are original brake pads. They are so thick. Compared with the old ones, they really need to be replaced!
This is a brake pad alarm. If it is worn to a certain extent, the alarm pad scraper will give a sound alarm.
Push the brake piston back in, install the new brake pads, and you’re done! Brake pad replacement completed!
Finally, step on the brake pedal a few times hard until it is strong, and then check to see if the brake liquid level is within the normal range. If it is not enough, add a little, theoretically it is not necessary. Since my car has been 4 years old, the rear wheel brake pads have not been replaced, so I added a little!

Generally, replace the front brake pads twice and replace the rear brake pads once. If you haven’t replaced the brake pads for 50,000 to 60,000 kilometers, it is recommended to check them. Sometimes the brake pads will wear differently from left to right, and one side will be thick and the other will be thin. Sometimes the inspection will cause the thick ones to ignore the thin ones. Although it will still be used for some time at that time, I don’t think it is necessary. We should replace them for safety because our private car can drive several 50,000 to 60,000 kilometers!
